This reminds me of the old sportsim family. They had the virtual stock market, as well as games tied to the stock market based on sports teams. Oh, how the 90's were soooo good to us on our 14.4k modems. I've tried several times to register, trying a different email now, not going to my spam folders either.

Well, Ive tried selling my stocks with limits, and it's not working? The price clearly says. xyz, and I've got my limit set to exactly that.

This is it!
If you put a limit, it means that's the price you require it to be sold for, or above/below depending on whether you are buying or selling.
Edited this in:
WTF is stop loss, limit, and selling short?:
Selling Short: Betting against the stock. You make money as it falls. It's just reverse investing, but carries more risk. You stand to lose an unlimited amount of money, as opposed to only losing a stocks value. Also, generally, markets rise over time. If you are a habitual shorter, you will lose money in the long run most likely.
Stop-Loss: A stop-loss is used to "stop your losses." If a stock is falling too much that you've bought, your stop loss can save you if you are not there at your computer to see it happen. Let's say you've invested in AAPL at $450 a share. AAPL is a fairly volatile stock, so you want to allow for some movement, so you might set a stop-loss @ 440, or 445. This means, if the stock falls below the stop loss, it will be sold. The theory behind stop loss is that you utilize support levels and resistance levels. The theory of those is that, if a stock passes the level, it will continue going in that direction until the next support or resistance level.
Limit: This is like what you do when you set an item for sell or buy in the GE. You are saying, I will purchase/sell this stock for THIS price. If you are buying, with a limit, it means you will buy for that price or lower. If you are selling with a limit, then you will sell for that price or higher. Shorting obviously flips this.

Looks like Kalio is going to lose his name in the all in marker to you.
There's a new all-in boss in town! Wonder if you will pull the final "The Kalio" and not trade anymore while in first so far.

In fairness, he made 2 very successful trades, and 2 not-so successful, which he cut his losses pretty quick on. No secrets though, lol

Re: MarketWatch Stock Game
I really don't know much about the stock market. Like, how do the trades actually go? Who are you trading with? I've made most of my money so far in an almost flipping like situation instead of straight forward investing. I would watch the prices by continuously refreshing the page, then when the price goes a couple cents lower than usual, I'll go all in and then refresh until the price goes back up 5-7 cents then cell again. I've made over 12 thousand in 5 minutes before. Of course, this comes with risk and I've lost nearly as much as I've made.

Grats on the pass! I missed out on these market rallies for the most part, I am preparing to move, so I imagine the next few days I wont be doing too much, I just set some to go long and that's it. If the market dips, I'll probably not being doing much the rest of the week .

The stock market works quite a bit like the RS GE does. You are trading with other people. At any given time you make a sell, there is someone on the other end saying "I wanna buy that!"
There are many different types of people, just like in RS.
Some people trade for quick trades, other people trade to go "long" (years usually) and just hold, since the stock market is one of the best long term investments. Then there are people who focus on the middle ground and go for the trend changes.
Historically, as well, there is no moving evidence that anything beats going long and just riding the market on a long timeline.
That said, I encourage you to google any question that I also answer here. I am no way an expert, and there's tons of information online.

Re: MarketWatch Stock Game
Hmmm, major issue. I had a stock, it split. However, I still have my original shares, the price halved, but my shares did not double. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to contact anyone there with my problem... So now I'm last place, with over a $400k loss. I'm Michael Angelo btw.
