Happy Hunting: Getting the Zamorak Warpriest Armor outside the GWD [FAST]
D avy's guide to obtaining Warpriest
War Priest armour is primary known as armour only obtainable by killing creatures in the Godwars Dungeon. They exist in 4 different forms with different special effects, depending on the creatures you kill (Bandos, Zamorak, Armadyl, Saradomin). In this guide we will be hunting Zamorak War Priest armour, because it gives the best special effect. But we will not do this in the Godwars Dungeon, there is a little neat trick that not many people know about.
We will be killing lvl 28 combat Werewolves in Canifis, preferably using a Dwarf Multicannon and Magic to speed up the proces. Using Magic and a Multicannon will cost you at maximum 2M using the best spell possible. The max amount of time this should take is 5 hours. But most likely you will be able to get it in around 3 hours.
This guide is only about the Magic and Cannon method, it is possible with Melee, but I will not talk about it because I have never tried it out myself and will probably slow down the proces.
What is War Priest armour ?
- Spoiler:
- War Priest is a Hybrid Armour, it comes in 4 forms of the 4 gods in the God Wars Dungeon (Zamorak, Saradomin, Bandos and Armadyl.
Saradomin and Zamorak War Priest share the same special effect, while wearing the full set you will get a 6% chance that the damage dealt will be reduced to 10% the original damage.
The armor exists out of 6 pieces, each giving a 1% chance of reducing the damage. The effect only occurs when wearing a minimum of 3 pieces (3% chance of reducing).- Warpriest of Zamorak Helm
- Warpriest of Zamorak Cuirass
- Warpriest of Zamorak Greaves
- Warpriest of Zamorak Gauntlets
- Warpriest of Zamorak Boots
- Warpriest of Zamorak Cape
The armor scales with your Defence level and reaches it's full potential at 75 Defence, giving it the same Defence as their lvl 60 counterparts (Dragon for Melee, Black Dragonhide for Ranged, or Grifolic for Magic)
Did you know ?- Spoiler:
- That the War Priest armor was obtainable during the Battle of Lumbridge event.
Now the only way to obtain it, is killing GWD creatures.
- Warpriest of Zamorak Helm
Why would I get War Priest armour ?
- Spoiler:
War Priest armour is the strongest Hybrid Armour in the game, besides cosmetic equipment that can only be used in certain minigames (Like Castle Wars).
War Priest scales with your Defence level, the higher your defence level, the higher the bonuses will be, so it's usefull for everyone.
The special effect makes it a desireable equiptment during Bossfights, as it can greatly decrease the received damaged.
You cannot obtain a drop twice, which means you don't have to worry about getting 5x Gauntlets and not being able to obtain the cape.
Requirements, inventory & gear
- Spoiler:
Requirements
Magic: 81 (min 62)
The creatures we're going to kill are weak to Water spells, but any spell will work, I highly recommend getting at least 62 Magic for the Air Wave. Using higher tier spells will speed up the killing proces.
Ranged: 70 (min 1)
If you want to obtain the armour fast, you can use a Dwarf Multicannon (Requirements: Small quest, no lvl reqs and funds to purchase it). The Cannon can be used with any Ranged level, but will hit significantly harder the higher your Ranged level is.
Defence: 70 (min 1)
If you're a pure/low Defence you can protect/deflect from melee to negate any damage you would take.
Gear
This is the gear I personally used:
Recommended armor is Ganodermic with a Staff of Light, the Staff of Light will let you use spells for free from time to time, saving you money. You can downgrade the gear wearing Mystic Robes or upgrade it by wearing Subjugation or Virtus equipment.
This is the action bar I personally used:
I highly suggest using Metamorphosis as ultimate ability. Your spells will deal 50% more damage during the duration and will not cost any runes.
Inventory
This is the inventory I personally used:
Dwarf Multicannon: Not obligatory, but it really speeds up the proces and makes the whole thing AFK. The Multicannon will hit inhabitants of Canifis, making them transform into a werewolf and making them agressive to you aswel.
Cannonball: For the full War Priest equipment, you'll gonna need around 2K-3K Cannonballs. I got my full equipment with 2150 Cannonballs, my friend did the same and got it at around 3000 Cannonballs.
Cannonballs buy around 400 GP ea, making it a 800K-1.2M investment in cannonballs.
Sharks: Sharks are only needed when your Defence level is rather low. With 90+ Defence you won't be in need of any food. If you use a Bunyip with a lower Defence level, you'll be able to stay there forever aswel.
Runes: I used Fire Surge, because it is the strongest spell available. You can use any spell, the creatures are rather weak and will most likely die in 2-3 hits.
With my setup, I used around 2000 Air Runes and 2000 Fire runes, with Fire Surge costing 5 runes each, I used around 400 spells. The total cost of this runes would be 80K for the fire runes (40 gp ea) and 40K for the air runes (20 gp ea)
Hunting the War Priest armour
- Spoiler:
- As you are all geared up we can start our journey towards our desired War Priest of Zamorak armour.
Take the Lodestone to Canifis , if you don't have it unlocked, take the long route from Varrock.
Here is a map from the path you should take when arriving at Canifis:- Spoiler:
If you took a Dwarf Multicannon with you, place it between the two lamps in the middle of Canifis, shown in the picture below.
This is the most optimal spot to hit most of the human.- Spoiler:
Load up your Dwarf Multicannon and let it fire. The Multicannon will hit all the human, when the human get attacked, they will transform into a Werewolf. The werewolves are Combat level 28 and have a max hit of 80 . Also, these werewolves are the creatures that drop the Zamorak pieces of War Priest. If you turn auto-retaliate on, you can AFK this untill your Cannon runs out of Cannon Balls.
When you receive a War Priest drop, a golden beam will shine over your item and you will receive a message in your chatbox:
A golden beam shines over one of your items.
Did you know ?- Spoiler:
- You can upgrade your Dwarf Cannon by helping out the Dwarves in the Artisan Workshop, found in the South east corner of Falador. By helping out the Dwarves you will earn respect. With this respect you can upgrade your cannon in a Golden Dwarf Cannon (50% respect), which holds up to 60 cannonballs in stead of 30.
Or you can turn it into a Royale Dwarf Cannon (100% respect), which holds up to 90 cannonballs instead of 60.
By unlocking these upgrades this method becomes even more AFK-able because of the longer time between reloading your Dwarf Multicannon.
I wish all you guys good luck in hunting the Zamorak War Priest armour, may the odds be ever in your favor !
Kind regards,
Davy
