Filming his own robbery

Happened in Brazil, guy is on his motorcycle and filming the path to his house/work and two guys on another motorcycle tries to rob his motorcycle in the street. On the other side of the street was a cop inside his car and he comes out and shoots one of the guys.

That is pretty darn epic, but what is up with all the surrounding people? I mean, a robbery is taking place in broad daylight, yet no one wants to come out and help the guy being robbed in any way, except for that cop.

I saw this yesterday and found it pretty funny how quickly justice was served.

Does suck to be the robber though, he got shot twice which probably wasn't too pleasant.
