Staff of Light vs Polypore?
Which do you prefer/think is better? I personally bought both for any occasion.
Basic Comparison:
Staff of Light:
There's a 1 in 8 chance that you will save all runes when casting a spell, this effect is increased when using the robes from Fist of Guthix
The staff acts as a Slayer Staff when casting Slayer Dart (not that anyone uses this spell nowadays)
It looks awesome XD
Polypore Staff:
Built-in spell, Polypore Strike which costs about 150 gp/cast (more expensive than the 5 airs needed for Air Surge, a spell close in level+element). Can also be used on any spellbook
Requires 80 Farming to charge/recharge
Provides "runes" for Polypore Rtrike
Both are faily cheap, at around 350k each. Feel free to comment on which you use and why.

Re: Staff of Light vs Polypore?
Runes don't seem expensive to use(for me at least) so I have no benefit for staff of light, even though I do own it(also got recolour thing on it )
I use poly usually when I go to the wilderness as it is pretty strong, doesn't require any runes and I can protect it easily.
Besides that I have both chaotic staff and virtus wand and book so I use those the most lol.

Oh yeah, I forgot the poly provided runes. It would be optimal when inv space is needed, such as bossing. Ill add that into the op.

Re: Staff of Light vs Polypore?
If I don't fight Kurasks I don't use staff of light since, since Polypore staff since it gives access to the a unique spell that can be used in all three spellbooks (Polypore strike) which is quite useful especially if you are using lunar
On the other hand the 1/8 change to save your runes is quite useless first because it doesn't works with abilities and secondly because runes are quite cheap now days.

Re: Staff of Light vs Polypore?
I am assuming you are using the Momentum ability, otherwise, these points are almost worthless.
They have the exact same stats, so they have an even playing field to start. Polypore is degradable, but it doesn't degrade horribly fast, so can be used for quite a while, and cost will be absorbed over time for it, assuming you are using it to train slayer. The staff of light does take more inventory space, but this is not a large burden, unless you plan to stay somewhere for a very long time, and the 1-2 spaces are needed more than the excess runes. IMO, use polypore unless you're blood barraging in the Abyss, then use the Staff of Light to save on Blood and Fire runes.

personally i use the staff of light just because it doesn't degrade and has a chance to save runes,

Re: Staff of Light vs Polypore?
I use the polypore because it saves enventory spaces, where as with the SoL you need enventory spaces. Also, with the polypore you can just protect one item and then have the same number of casts left, unlike the SOL where you lose the runes and have to rebuy them. Not sure on which one is better with stats, though.

I'd go for polypore, dont have to worry about runes and its slighty op for the type of staff it is..incredibly versatile
