I'm very excited to join this community and see what's in store for me and learn from others.

My name is David, aka Frotwo. I started playing Runescape back when I was just in Elementary school. Just like every other person in the beginning, I played the game with not much knowledge and experience thinking $1M was a lot. When my account got muted, I stopped playing and quit the game for about 6 years. In the past, I always wanted to be wealthy—have all the phats, rares, and maxed out $$—but I had absolutely no clue on how to get there. I thought the wealthy in the game simply inherited it from sheer luck of saving their futile party hats back in RS classic.. That is clearly not the case.

I think it's really funny. As I get older I start to perceive this game entirely different. I mean, I don't know why my 13 year-old self see the G.E as the main door to wealth in this game. Merching is how you make real money. And not everyone does it/sees the amount of wealth in it. It wasn't until I became interested in the real-world stock market that I thought about RS and said to myself.. "How is this any different, if not RS is much[ easier to earn profit in than this..

So about last week, I liquidated all my assets from my perm. muted account and transferred it's wealth onto my new account, Frotwo.

I downloaded the Runescape app that allows you to trade without logging in.. When I found out about this I almost went insane.
Honestly, how much better can this get? I mean, this app maximizes your efficiency tenfold. I don't even have to sit at a computer and play the game. Mind=Blown

What led me here. Google's optimized search engine result I believe. it was on the first page, therefore it must be one of the best right? After all, it is the Smokin' Elite


What do you hope to achieve while in Smokin Elite?

I aim to maximize my profit and master this. This is going to be my new hobby. Pretty stoked.

10. I'd say my real-world knowledge of trading directly transfers to the skills I need in order to be successful at merching in RS.

Welcome to Smokin Elite. So what's your experience with the real world stock market? Are you a proffessional trader? or uni student studying finance? or a person trading in the stock market for your retirement investment?

All the best with merching I haven't done it in a while as I no longer play RS.

Unfortunately, none of those things. I'm currently majoring in Business admin. I've been following stocks for about half a year now. My only knowledge comes from books and following live groups. I haven't traded with real cash yet, just play money. But I've definitely learned a lot about trading within the past 6 months.

I'm very curious to know what the feel of RS merching is like compared to real-world. If it's similar or not at all. After all, stocks are stocks so there must be some fundamental similarities. But how merchants go about analyzing the game to make crucial decisions is what will be interesting.

I'm also sort of learning about stocks. Do you have any tips on what to invest in or what sort of industries to invest in that have high risk and high reward? I'm in a competitions which lasts for 6 months and we are given $50 000 paper money to invest in stocks. There's real prize pool of $5000 or so. My current strategy is investing in mining companies and hope they hit something big, but I'm not sure what other industries to invest that have the potential to generate a big reward.

Have you done any research into the medical industry? That would be a good start. I've had good success with pharm companies. I'm more interesting in day-trading which is equivalent to the RS quick-flip. There isn't really a list of companies that you can just follow, you just have to sit down and watch the trends for different stocks with a group of people and work as a team to trade. I mean, you can do it by yourself but it takes a lot more digging. Some mining companies are good too, but for long-term investing like 6 months it's just hard to predict what will be successful or not. Long-term is just hard to analyze because there are so many variables in this world. Day-trading is more risky, but you can have so much more success with it if you do it right.

My investing strategy: I would invest atleast 3-4 a day (maybe when the market opens till 12pm), and just sit at your computer and day-trade. Read some books on day-trading first, and maybe follow some online mentor and diy. If you do that, you will be more successful than everyone else who does long-term investing.

Also, is this community still alive?

I haven't really researched the medical industry, i'm only allowed to invest in stocks in the Australian Stock Exchange for this game so I'm not sure if there is any major breakthrough going on in Australia .

Is day trading really worth it and better than long term trading?

I also thought 6 months was short term and there is a larger risk to make a loss during 6 months than to make a loss in long term such as 10 years.

Brokerage fees are $20 per trade which seems like a large amount to me to be able to afford day trading, how much do you have to pay in brokerage per trade where you live?

To day trade what sort of tools would I need? the online graphs on google and yahoo seem delayed by 30 minutes. Would this be suitable for day trading or not? Also what concepts, theories or topics should I read about before I try day trading?

The library that is close to me just got 12 Bloomberg Terminals, I heard they help investors or something? What are they used for and what makes them better than using a computer/internet?

This community is sort of inactive, as we closed down two active subforums of this forum (RS Casino and the RS Black market). And not everyone still plays RS I think, I don't at least . So yeh soz for all the investing and day trading questions ^.^ I haven't found a topic to post in that really interested my in a while.
