Hacked Account

Hey all,
Been a while, I recently came back to RS and have been mostly training slayer and what not. Haven't really done anything with clan besides plop down in the clan chat when I log on. I finished a final early today, so decided to drop in the computer lab to play for a bit. However, I can't log in. My username/pass combo doesn't work after it worked yesterday, and my email no longer matches my account. I am simply asking if anyone else has been through this, and if so what did they do? I haven't been on anything sketchy in the slightest. I've been using the computers in a computer lab on campus to play mostly. The only thing I've done lately is visit runescape, here, and try to recover my password on merchz, which failed. Any ideas on how to get my account back?

Email accounthelp@jagex.com with as much info as you can think of. All passwords you remember, membership details, especially any order numbers

I managed to retrieve my account through the customer service side of the main website, PMing Jag Mods through the in-game inbox.

I'm currently sending in an account help form, how do you use the in-game inbox?

I honestly don't remember, but the account help form sounds like what I filled out.

Alright solid. I submitted it, hopefully get a timely response. Have finals and work rest of day, so we'll see where it goes. Thanks for the input guys ^_^

Getting hacked sucks, take it from me ^.^ I unfortunately had it before Jagex became more sympathetic to people being hacked, however if you get unlucky and don't get your bank back, don't give up, just start from the bottom of the GP pile and work your way up - I found rebuilding quite fun in many ways

Appreciate it Bom. I haven't heard anything back yet from Jagex, but the thing says 2-5 days so not really worried yet. My fault anyway and starting from the bottom isn't a terrible thing I suppose. Debated going ahead and making a new account and starting now, just in case.

Send them ticket they respond usually in under 24 hours that way

Anyway's yeh you have to login to use the Message center, i don't think thats the best way, use the email one, its usually 24hours-48hours.

Took them 4 days, but they responded by email. Had to submit a password recovery appeal, so hopefully that's a timely response.

Lol took them 1 day for me, Woke up at 4 am because i got an email from them :p
odd that it's taking so long for you, Hope it will turn out well.

Goodluck with the password recovery appeal, hopefully they will respond quick so you can get your account back. ) It may be worth checking your email security to and scanning your computer to make sure you are safe before you attempt to re-secure your account. Having an email that is not your personal email or known to others both irl/online will also help with keeping both secure.

I got it back! Thanks for the support guys! Not entirely sure how it happened as of yet, but I have a few ideas. Appreciate the advice from everyone. A mod can surely lock this now, as my problem is solved ^_^
