Debater/Contributor badges

We are now introducing new badges which will be given out monthly to those who meet each badges requirement.

--- We will over look who makes the most useful input to the section in a variety of topics, from the start to the end of the month.

--- This will be based upon both overall input you make towards the section in terms of debating and also how many suggestions you have made to help us make the Project better.

Will these badges only be used for the Intelligent Debate Section?
Othen that, badges look cool and a nice idea.

Yup only for this section and awarded monthly Razz

However you can never rule out that an Admin might like to make it available overall for everyone Smile

Why does SM have the idea that activity can and should be bought with achievements?
Either people will feel the need to discuss and not need the achievement, or they will want the achievement and dont feel strongly enough about this subforum to use it without the achievement.

Sorry to see you feel this way. However, our end goal is to recongize those who are very active in the section, though I don't particularly see the big stink over the badges, they are small and out of the way in comparison to the way they were when I designed them.

It's not the badges, its the desire to reward any of the activity this forum still has and might have with badges as a way of somewhat artificially maintaining activity.

Then again, that all depends on if it will work, which I'm not sure about Smile

This is not a place to discuss weather the or not the badges are an attempt to increase activity, if you would like create a topic in the section and post there.

well we are trying are very best to crank up the activity in this section, which is not this easy. yes we are giving rewards for activity in the section, since rewards are clearly the only thing the mayority of the public care about. but if you have any other / better idea feel free to contact either kid , kelly or myself.
