Bom's Goals

I started playing Runescape 7 years ago. Since then, I have gained a lot of experience and fun. I never really started to merch until 2007, when I was picking flax at Seers Village and I saw someone buying a whip for 1.5M. At the time, this was a lot of money considering I was a noob and had been playing Runescape on and off as well as the fact that not many people had over 1M cash back then. I noticed that afew minutes later he was selling the whip for 1.6M. I asked him what he was doing, and he told me he was merchanting. I set my goal to get 1.5M, and after hours of flax picking and making bow strings, I reached it. And so, I spent afew months buying and selling whips with 100k profit margin per flip. I was making around 600k-1M profit per hour, which in my opinion (at the time) was a hell of a lot.

In 2008 when free trade was removed, I was very sad and quit Runescape, leaving 100M and 99 Woodcutting behind (I got it the hard way before Ivy was released )

Around 6-8 months later I returned to check out my account. I had heard about the new Grand Exchange, so I went to go and see it. As far as I was concerned, it was useful for gaining supplies but not for merchanting. I was about to log off and probably never return to the game when I saw someone advertising the Smokin Mils merch clan. I was curiouse, and so decided to see what it was all about (lucky eh?).

With the help of some great ranks, I learned more and more about manipulation. I gradually merched my money to around 400-500M along with five skill capes when I was hit with a big surprise.

In August 2010 I was talking to a friend who had several high level accounts, but he never seemed to be playing. I found out that he used EpicBot and managed to train his account night and day. I decided to give it a go. It was my first ever offence, and I was banned after 27 minutes of botting 66-67 Hunter. I was devestated, but it didn't stop me.

I made a new account, and decided that I wanted to get a skill cape ASAP and merch at the same time. I got 99 wc in December at 3 combat (99 Woodcutting for the 2nd time, and it's now my goal on my "new" main to get it a 3rd time). While I got 99 Woodcutting on this completely new account, I aquired 6M from bids nests with which I invested into the clan item. I never dumped early, so I had to use all my skills as a merchant to junk trade my unstables using no rares or starting off cash. I pretty much got 15-20M the hard way .

December was also a sad month for me because it brought the end of manipulation. I am now making plenty of profit and have over 100M cash which I flip with, but I will always miss manipulation, even if we can do it with free trade. It will never be the same again, since what I loved about it was you didn't need to do anything for afew weeks before the dump date was announced, at which point I could do what I do best: Trade in World Two and admire my new cash pile.

But here I am. I have decided to turn my current pker into a main, and my skiller with 99 wc into my own staker (see link for staking guide in my sig, which is how I will be training it. Training for that account will resume soon).
