Guide: Nocturne the Eternal Nightmare
Nocturne the Eternal Nightmare
Nocturne is a Jungler who you build AD/Tank, he is one of the best initiators in all of league of legends with his ultimate he can dive on the enemy ADC from the back lines causing darkness while he jumps. In my opinion if played right Nocturne is one of the best jungles in the game. A great way to initiate a team fight with Nocturne is to turn on Paranoia, use your shroud of darkness, use Paranoia to the enemy team ADC, use Unspeakable Horror on the ADC, use Duskbringer, (use any active items you have at this point).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Abilities:
Umbra Blades (PASSIVE)
- Nocturne's attacks are periodically enhanced, dealing physical damage to surrounding enemies for 120% of his attack damage and healing himself for 10 / 18 / 26 per enemy hit. Cooldown reduction does not affect Umbra Blades, but every basic attack reduces the cooldown by 1 second.
Duskbringer (Q)
- Nocturne sends out a shadow blade in a line that leaves a Dusk Trail on its path, dealing physical damage to enemies it passes through and causing enemy champions hit to also leave a Dusk Trail behind their movements for 5 seconds. While on the Dusk Trail, Nocturne ignores unit collision and gains bonus movement speed and attack damage.
Shroud of Darkness (W)
- Passive: Nocturne empowers his blades, permanently gaining attack speed.
Active: Nocturne creates a barrier that blocks the next enemy spell that hits him within the next 1.5 seconds. If Nocturne blocks a spell, the passive attack speed bonus is doubled for 5 seconds.
Unspeakable Horror (E)
- Active: Nocturne creates a tether between himself and a target enemy and plants a nightmare into its mind, dealing magic damage over 2 seconds while the tether holds. If Nocturne remains within 465 range of the target for the full duration, it becomes feared.
Paranoia (R)
- Active: Nocturne reduces the sight radius of all enemy champions and removes their shared vision for 4 seconds; this includes champions, minions, wards, towers, and Clairvoyance. While Paranoia is active, Nocturne can activate it again to launch himself at a target enemy champion within range, dealing physical damage.

Shroud of Darkness (W)
- Passive: Nocturne empowers his blades, permanently gaining attack speed.
- Attack speed: 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40%
Active: Nocturne creates a barrier that blocks the next enemy spell that hits him within the next 1.5 seconds. If Nocturne blocks a spell, the passive attack speed bonus is doubled for 5 seconds.

Runes:
- 9 Greater Seals of Armor (armor yellows)
- 9 Greater Glyphs of Magic Resist (MR blues)
- 4 Greater Marks of Armor Pen (Armor Pen reds)
- 5 Greater Marks of Attack Speed (Attack Speed reds)
A look at the full stats/what the runepage looks like:
On nocturne you can use these or you can use flat Attack Damage reds/Attack speed reds for faster clears but I run these because it gives me everything I need in a rune page.
Masteries:
The reason why I run 9/21/0 instead of 21/9/0 or 21/0/9 is because in order to survive in team-fights you have to build him as a bruiser rather than an assassin. If you go 21/9/0 you'll get blown up in a team-fight when you dive in and wont finish off their ADC/APC in time because Nocturne is not a burst assassin. The reason why you wouldn't go 21/0/9 is with the "buff" to the jungle you can't really not get Tough Skin and Bladed Armor in the defensive tree otherwise it will take you too long to clear your jungle and you'd be really low health when coming out of your jungle.
