€1000 - Gaming Desktop
Hellow fellow gamers
Lately I have been looking around for components to put in my new gaming desktop or even complete builds.
My budget is around 1000 euros.
I was thinking of using an AMD HD 7950 GPU because the reviews on it were simly amazing and the price-card isn't that high for what you get in return.
And for the CPU I was thinking of a AMD FX-8350 Black Edition cooled by the Corsair Hydro H100i to provide me with the opportunity of multi-tasking and high end gaming, without hearing noise from my fans and cooling.
If you guys are interested this is the 'build' that I had in mind but came out a little bit expensive and I don't feel like all the compartments are really worth the money and that I should be able to get something cheaper and get more out of my computer for my money.
The links included are from Belgium so yeah it's in dutch.

O.O It was 3 A.M when I made this list lololol I should take a more expensive one I might go with Asus though, saw some great reviews on them. - EDIT - Well actuality I took a look at the motherboard it's actuality not that bad for such low price. I don't know..
Perhaps this one? http://www.processorstore.be/product/245705/category-212231-intel-processoren/gigabyte-ga-z77x-d3h.html
But then I have to get an Intel CPU
And I'm also doubting ond going for a GTX 660 card instead of a HD 7950 because the 3gb would never be used as I'm gaming on a single screen.

You should use http://pcpartpicker.com/ to build your PC. It's easier.

if you need high capacity storage try a hybrid drive or have 2 hhds and use raid 0, the motherboard is compatible. if nto then an ssd is a good choice, but i'd recommend an intel or samsung over crucial.
as for the cpu the 8350 is a good choice. sometimes and intel can be better, but you really only want to spend the extra money when you really need it. i would not recommend intel at the moment due to the impending release of the 4th gen core i processors, the i7 4xxxK has been overclocked to over 7ghz by someone, can expect much more performance from them so it's best to wait for them.

looks good, but that hard drive should be 7200 rpm, 5400 rpm is slow to load up. http://tweakers.net/pricewatch/317666/western-digital-blue-blue-wd10ezex-1tb.html

What about Asrock? Their mobo's are so cheap but I don't know if it's worth to spare on that even though they give the same as an asus / gigabyte mobo which is a lot expensiver

Sorry for the late response, that build is great. There are new Nvidia cards out so there may be new AMD cards coming out soon, might want. The 4th gen intel CPUs are out too, although the Fx CPU is still a better option if not overclocking.

Go for Ssd instand of Hdd.
I got a
quad core laptop
16gb ram
intel core i7
120gb Ssd
its quite insane speed and it did only cost me 700 euros, while desktops are way cheaper with same specs

Isn't 16gb of ram an overkill?
8gb is enough for me and if you, Pruxis, can then try to do a combo. Load the OS with some programs that you frequently use on the SSD and all of you files on a HDD. You WILL get some amazing speeds.

It's better to have more than not have enough or just enough, 16 gb ram is a good amount. If Pruxis were to get an SSD another component would have to be downgraded for it to fit in the €1k budget, an SSD just isn't worth trading a 7850 for a 7770. An SSD would be a good addition later on, but for now a 7200 rpm hard drive is the best selection, that or a hybrid hard drive.
If you do decide to go for an SSD, be it later or now, it's best to go for Intel or Samsung.

Re: €1000 - Gaming Desktop
16GB of ram is overkill for any machine at the moment really. 4GB will suffice but 8gb will be more than enough for now. I also agree with the last post, get a good gfx card instead of an SSD then maybe upgrade later on.

I'm going for AMD FX 8350 with the 7950 from Sapphire cooled by the corsair h100i.
All my components togheter bring me up to 1020 euros and I'm glad with it so I wont change my mind right now :p

If you plan on using a GPU besides the one built in, the don't use an AMD processor, use an Intel one. In the long run, your computer will outperform one with an AMD CPU if you use an Intel.

Intel costs more, is not future proof such as the AM3+ socket from AMD therefore I shall go with AMD :3[/quote]Tuff Tiga wrote:If you plan on using a GPU besides the one built in, the don't use an AMD processor, use an Intel one. Have you bought it yet? You could wait for the upcoming 760 card from Nvidia.
