in eoc i found fire giants in the chaos tunnels to be decent. I recommend a sgs too for some passive healing.

Yeah fire giants are good for training, be sure to use a slash weapon though, like a godsword.
You could also try Deadly Red Spiders, where you would be best off using a crush weapon like a saradomin sword.

Slayer was the way i got to around 80-90, then I grinded my way to 99 using armoured zombies, but this was 2-3 years ago.
