Logged in to check my email this morning and saw this:



And I've been buying a lot of gold lately both on 07 and EOC so at that point I was like "This is probably another scam email."

So I opened it just to see and I see this:



It looked legit as hell, except the copyright only goes to 2011, and it doesn't show my Display name.

So I right clicked link to see if link was fake, and I pretty much almost crapped myself. Because it looked legit, so I go to RuneScape site manually instead of clicking link, and my account didn't have any infractions or nothing.

So I go back to email and instead of www.runescape it was www-runescape

Atm all I'm doing now is this:



Not banned ftw ಥ_ಥ

Time to buy some more gold.

Many many players will click on that link because it looks legit.

But as you already say, your account name isnt displayed anc copy right is wrong.

Ps: never know jagex sends mail when you got a infraction

It's funny because I haven't gotten a scam email in MONTHS.

And after a week of buying gold I got this lmfao.

The Timing level of these Asian company's that do this is Godlike.

Literally they get spot on with this timing it's just unreal how accurate they are.

They have to be partnered with Google in some way that Google sells them user information or something based on what you search, and then the Chinese company's go through it and fire off these emails to people that have visited gold buying/selling websites etc.

They dont have to buy user information from google, there are alot of ways to get info about people. Thats maybe a problem from internet. If people cant get it by there own, there are enough others who can do it for them. especially china got much and good hackers and they are cheap, thats one of the reason's why that kind of mail mostly come from china i think.

So the point is: Be aware from pishing mails or other fraudulent mails. dont click on any link if you dont know the sender or dont trust it.

Holy shit I would have fallen for that in a heartbeat.

I would have probably table flipped my laptop way before I clicked on the link. Smart thinking checking through the full email though .
