Assassin's Ascension Guide to 1m+/hr
Hello all, welcome to my guide on how to make good cash out of the Ascension Dungeon
Background
First up a bit of background on the ascension dungeon. The Monastery of Ascension also known to players as the ascension dungeon, "asc" for short is a slayer dungeon released by jagex with the june 4th 2013 update. This dungeon houses 4 unique monsters which are best known for dropping Ascenion Keystones, which are the prized drops of this guide, along with 6 unique bosses all of whom i shall ignore for the duration of this guide.
Requirements
Minimum Skill Requirements70 Ranged for crystal bow
81 Slayer to slay the ascension monsters
65 defense for royal dragonhide armour
Ok so now that we know a little about the dungeon and the skill requirements lets get moving with gear requirements. For this guide there are two different types of setups.Setup 1 is for those who are either a bit low leveled and Setup 2 is for those who have a relatively high ranged and defense level.Feel free to mix and match gear and weapons from the 2 setups as you like.
Setup 1
- Spoiler:
This setup costs around 1184k. Also if you don't have 99 in any skill, just ignore my skill cape and wear the best cape that you can use, a few suggestions are the legend's cape, fire cape, or team cape.
- Spoiler:
- The skill rquirements for this setup are 70 defense, for karil's, and 80 Ranged for Royal Crossbow (rcb)
I know that the rcb can be a pain to get, but it greatly increases the amount made per hour Including the costs for the various parts of the rcb this setup costs around 4.6m and again if you don't have 99 in any skill, just ignore my skill cape and wear the best cape that you have.
Inventory
- Spoiler:
- No matter what gear setup you may have your inventory will always be the same:
This inventory allows space to accumulate noted and stackable items, and the alchable ones also without having to eat just to free up space, while still keeping enough food to keep you there for hours when you are using the right abilities.
- Spoiler:
- In the inventory section i mentioned that when the right abilities are used well along with food you can stay there for many hours, let's take a look at the abilities to use now:
Healing abilities:
These are the most important abilities as they allow you to endure lengthy periods of time at the dungeon without dying.
Let's start with THE most important ability here, regenerate. You are going to want to use this every 3-4 kills to regain your hp, a good way to use this without lowering your kill-count/hour is to kill 3-4 monsters in a row and then collect your loot while regenerating. The Guthix's Blessing ability which is a reward from the world wakes quest and requires 85 defense to use is also extremely helpful, since it is not only useable during combat but also heals alot more than regenerate.
Stun:
The target monster has a habit of stunning you, these two abilities are to counteract that.
The abilities anticipation and freedom are only necessary to those who can't kill these monsters quickly, anticipation allows you to avoid being stunned by them, while freedom allows you to escape the stun effect.
Combat Abilities:
Only one of these abilites is actually a must the others can be mixed up to match your likings.
The ability fragmentation shot is a very important one because out target monster does a fair amount of teleporting and fragmentation shot does 3 times the amount of damage to a target that has changed location since it was activated. Once you have this have atleast 5 other abilities including a threshold and an ultimate ability.
Getting There
- Spoiler:
Your'e going to want to use the Oo'glog loadstone and then run northwest from there, then directly east of the body of water on the map to the dungeon entrance. Just follow the red line on the map:
Also for banking just teleport to either burthorpe or edgeville and then teleport back, all via loadstones. Also while you can use a ring of dueling to mobile armies then go from there, this takes up an extra inventory slot and is also a bit more traveling.
Monsters & Loot
Now to the good stuff, after making you read that long and boring stuff you must be wondering to yourself why the hell am i even reading this. Well to make you see if doing that was justified let's take a look at your enemy and the loot that you're going to be obtaining.
The Enemy
- Spoiler:
- The monster you are going to be fighting is none other than the Gladius:
(picture taken from the runscape.wikia.)
The location at which you will be fighting is the huge red dot on the following map:
To get there just follow the path from the exclamation mark icon which is where you will be when you enter the dungeon. Also those four yellow dots around the huge red dot are going to be your main targets.
- Spoiler:
- The following is an image of all possible loot excluding rare drop table drops:
Everything there is placed in order based on what it is and what should be done with it:
Items in the 1st row are charms and can be kept or left based on how and if you want to train summoning
Items in the 3rd row are noted and stackeable items which can be sold and make you 250k-300k/hr.
Items withing the third are all important alchable items, as these will make you 250k/hr.
The items that are withing the 4th row are optional. Alching adamant platelegs is not really profitable in the long run as it's only 3k per leg, while that rune could have been used on something better, and ascension fragments are only to be taken if you are planning on making ascension bolts to USE, because as both the fragments and bolts are untradeable the just take up extra bank space if you don't use them.
Next up that one item within the 5th row that is to be used to help supplement your food supply while within the dungeon.
Now FINALLY the set of loot which will take you to 1m+/hr avergae. I'm talking about those ascension keys:
(another picture from runescape.wikia)
This is that oh so special loot that you are hoping to obtain, the average keys per hour is one. Keeping in mind that there will be some hours when you get none, and some hours when it's raining them. The sell price of each key differs also the actual sell price greatly differs from the g.e mid price and fluctuates often. NEVER sell one of these keys for LESS than 500k each.
