1.1 Introduction

So, what is Woodcutting? Woodcutting is skill in Runescape that allows you to chop trees, and allows you to chop better trees like Yew or Magic as you level up your Woodcutting skill. It is a skill that goes hand in hand with Fletching. The Woodcutting skill can also be used to make money with, by chopping logs from Maple, Yew or Magic trees, they can be sold for fairly high prices in bulk.


1.2 Items required

• Iron Axe
  
• Steel Axe
  
• Mithril Axe
  
• Adamant Axe
  
• Rune Axe
  
• Dragon Axe (If you are on budget, you can still continue using the Rune axe)
  
• Patience
  

1.3 Experience per log

• Logs - 25 XP (700 XP total for an empty inventory)
  
• Oak Logs - 37.5 XP (1050 XP total for an empty inventory)
  
• Willow Logs - 67.5 XP (1890 XP total for an empty inventory)
  
• Maple Logs - 110 XP (3080 XP total for an empty inventory)
  
• Yew Logs - 175 XP (4900 XP total for an empty inventory)
  
• Magic Logs - 250 XP (7000 XP total for an empty inventory)
  

1.4 Locations

Trees - Can be found almost everywhere on Runescape

Oak Trees - Can be found near Varrock's West Bank (Outside of the gate) and one can be found outside Falador's bank.

Willow Trees - Multiple trees can be found outside Draynor Village's bank.

Maple Trees - Multiple trees can be found behind Seers' Village's bank.

Yew Trees - Multiple trees can be found near the altar/cemetery  at Seers' Village and multiple trees can be near Catherby (near the flax field).

When you are woodcutting, there will be a chance that a Bird's Nest may drop from the tree and land near you. Here are the types of Bird's Nests, seeds and rings that you can get from a Bird's Nest :

35-55 : You will chop Willow trees. You will only chop approximately 2137 Willow Logs. (Use Mithril-Adamant axe)

55-99 : You will chop Maple Trees. You will only chop approximately 116979 Maple Logs. (Use Rune-Dragon axe)

2.2 Profitable Method to 99 Woodcutting

1-15 : You will chop trees. You will only chop approximately 97 Logs. (Use Iron axe)
