Freedom_1776's Personal Struggle to 99 Melee Skills ~Guide~
I would like to personal add a few comments before I start this guide/struggle. A lot of the tips & tricks you and many more of your peers will find in this guide can be found through common knowledge, Youtube Guides. Forum guides and personal friends. I do not claim to have discovered or even reinvent the wheel on these tips/tricks. What I do claim responsibility for is bring the resources I have gathered together to make your personal journey a little bit less chaotic.
So lets get this done!
In EOC RS I achieved 99 attack, 96 strength & 90 defense. While I did not achieve 99 in all the skills that I hoped by the time 07 got here, I was pretty damn close.
In 07 RS my current melee Stats are 60 attack, 60 strength, 60 defense. I am not gonna BS with you while I understand that this is not impressive I would like you to understand these are the skills I achieved within a week [Account Created: 10/13/13 Guide Begun: 10/20/13 (while working full time job)].
LEVELS 1-20:
*Cows
Lumbridge
Pretty straight forward, you're just starting off.
Goblins
Lumbridge
I don't recommend goblins because each individual has a total of 50 lps (life points) as compared to the cow which has 80 lps. Also goblins are just dicks!
LEVELS 20-60:
Rock Crabs
Top Right of Rellekka
These guys are golden if you manage to get lucky up in Rellekka. This place is extremely crowded and hinders your xp/hr. This is the only reason I don't suggest rock crabs as a go to.
*Hill Giants
I personally did my training here on my 07 account. Not only was the xp/hr decent I also found that the loot helped me out in the beginning. If you're in need of money collecting Big Bones and Limpwurts will definitely help get that bank account rolling. I would also suggest bring a varrock teleport (either runes or a tab) to speed the process up.
LEVELS 60-99:
*Giant Spiders
Barbarian Village
This is where you will find me! Giant spiders allow you to afk for about 10 minutes per round. I say per round because there are three locations for spiders in the same vicinity! When you start breaking 70-80 Str/Att you will find your xp/hr around 60k! After that it just keeps getting better!
Some individuals like to bring Guthans armour in order to heal and reduce the amount of time on the surface. I don't recommend Guthans unless you have money to waste. My process typically involves varrock tab or charge glory along with lobster/swordfish/monkfish depending on whats cheap at the time.
Bandits
Bandit Camp
The heads up with bandits is that in order to afk (which is what you want) it will require wearing a god item (saradomin vambs do it for me). Also Guthans armor is suggested heavily! An the travel required to reach this place kind of sucks. Again like Spiders, Bandits is going to be a crowded area as well! But if you have a high CB lvl people tend not to F with your territory.
Skeleton Monkeys
Ape Toll Dungeon Tunnel
Now this place can reward xp up to 100k per hr. That being said it is also one of the most expensive suggestions on this guide. It will require the Monkey Madness Quest, Slave amulet, prayer pots, tele tab and armor for prayer bonus. That being said if you afk for to long/misjudge you will die in a heartbeat!
Monkey Guards
Ape Atoll
Another great alternative, this method requires a minimum of 43+ prayer. While not required it is recommended to have prayer boosting armor to decrease the intervals of going to the altar (yes there is an altar). This method doesn't require prayer pots! All this being said, I would hold off on going here till at least 75+ attack. I didn't find the method as fast in EOC personally until I reached that level.
Also wearing Dharock armor on this method is highly suggested! Eating rock cake to bring your hp low really does the trick and helps speed that xp/hr process up!
So lets get this done!

Again, most of this information isn't new. Its simply being recycles and put in a format that I hope is easier to read for everyone! If this wasn't helpful to anyone than I will delete it and try again for something better! So let me know!
Also, The sources are true. Unfortunately because my forum account is new I can't post hyperlinks until day 7.

The quest "The Blood Pact" was not in the game until 2010. You may want to check through your quest list to make sure you have only those that are in the old school version of Runescape. Not bad for a general guide though, I may follow something similar to this when I start to play the old school version a bit.
