Motherlode Mines Guide
What is Motherlode Mine?
Motherlode Mine was an update which was added to Old School Runescape on April 24 2014, which was designed by Runite Miner. This mining area which is located within the Dwarven Mines was discovered by Prospector Percy. There is no quest requirements to access the mining area, however a level of 30 mining is required to mine the veins located here.
How to get to Motherlode Mine:
The fastest way of entering Motherlode Mine is using the entrance east of Falador Party Room. Head to the southeastern area of the Dwarven Mine and enter the tunnel. Once here pass through the tunnel to enter the cravens.
Motherlode Mining Entrance
General Mining at the Motherlode Mine:
Scattered around the walls of the mine, there will be veins in which can be mined to receive Pay-dirt. From these veins mining Pay-dirt may be random on the amount received per vein, however a maximum of 20 may be mined from one vein. 60 mining experience is gained per each Pay-dirt mined.
Keep an eye out for falling rocks while mining in certain areas of the mine which may block some paths around the mine, however may be mined for 10 experience each. Clearing the fallen rocks is temporary however and more will fall again. Players may take small Hitpoints damage if they are standing in the way of falling rocks.
Pay-dirt Ore Cleaning:
After obtaining some Pay-dirt, the ore may be cleaned by using the contraption located in the center of the mine. Deposit any Pay-dirt using the hopper located in the northern area on the contraption. Assuming the water is already flowing it will slide down into the sac located south. Once the cleaned ore falls into the sac, additional mining experience may be received from cleaning the ore.The sac can hold up to 81 cleaned ore which may be retrieved at anytime however once the sac is nearly full additional Pay-dirt will not be able to deposit in the hopper till the sac is empty. When the sac is nearly full an in game message will appear, indicating this.
Experience Gained From Cleaning Ore:
Coal 30 - 0 experience
Golden Nugget - 0 experience
Gold ore - 15 experience
Mithril ore - 30 experience
Adamantite ore - 45 experience
Runite ore - 75 experience
At times the contraption water wheels may break, meaning a hammer is useful to carry around in order to fix them. Hammers may also be found within the creates or on randomly on the ground near the machine. Fixing the wheels will grant a small amount of Smithing experience for each time a wheel is repaired.
Average Mining Experience per Hour at Motherlode Mine:
31 mining - 22,000
41 mining - 26,000
61 mining - 29,200
70 mining - 34,300
85 mining - 39,000
99 mining - 46,100
What are Gold Nuggets for?
Randomly while retrieving cleaned ore from the sac Golden Nuggets may be obtained depending on Mining Level. Higher leveled miners may receive more Golden Nuggets which can be spent at Prospector Percy's Nugget Shop. The following items below may be bought at the shop, multiple prospector items can also be bought as well.
The Full Prospector Outfit
Prospector helmet - 40 golden nuggets
Prospector jacket - 60 golden nuggets
Prospector legs - 50 golden nuggets
Prospector boots - 30 golden nuggets
Soft clay pack - 10 golden nuggets
Coal bag - 100 golden nuggets
Gem bag - 100 golden nuggets

I peaked on a few fansites after posting the guide, you be amazed how many do not even have a guide yet for this posted even. Seeing it sure shocked me but would explain why so many have not heard of the Motherlode Mine.
