Trio tank

Some all around tips for tankers:

  • Graardor's max hit with range is 35
  • Minions won't attack you while you're not attacking the boss, so you can safely heal at 36+ HP
  • Heal on mage minion during kill if you fall under ~60 HP (stab works best)
  • While healing midkill, you can switch to your shield in between spear hits to tank Graar's potential range attacks
  • Tentacle/Normal whip and Zam Hasta have a 4-tick attack speed; Graardor is 6-tick. Meaning for normal face to face combat you will get 1.5:1 whip or hasta hits for every of Graar's.
  • You can step under every 2 of your hits to get a 2:1 ratio of hits (not including attacker's)
  • Stepping under when you eat is good to avoid extra damage, just don't stay under too long (~3 whip hits) or the boss will switch targets
  • Heal up on the minions with guthans after the kill. Tank gets highest priority on heals and usually gets ranger to himself

Gear

  • Guthan's armor set
  • Dragonfire Shield > Crystal Shield (i)
  • Abyssal Tentacle or Zamorakian Hasta
  • Fire cape or Skill cape or Zamorak cape
  • Bandos boots or Dragon boots
  • Berserker, Warrior, or Archer ring (imbued or unimbued) or no ring altogether; NO RING OF LIFE
  • Amulet of Fury
  • Barrows Gloves
  • Saradomin Godsword or Armadyl Godsword (not needed)

Trio Attacker

Some all around tips for attackers:

  • Abyssal Tentacle + Rune defender is all around best DPS
  • While waiting for spawn, stay on the middle of west wall until tank has attacked Graar
  • Use special attack (SGS or AGS) in the middle of the kill: 100-200 HP
  • Make sure one of the attackers brings fire runes (natures are a drop) for alchemy. The coins can be well over a mil after a lengthy trip
  • Bring Guthans even though you're an attacker, you will need it to heal in between kills
  • Zamorak Chest or Karils Leathertop greatly suggested over Bandos Chestplate as the mage minion will do a lot of damage
  • Piety flicking saves sooooooo much prayer

Gear

  • Abyssal Tentacle + Rune Defender
  • Armadyl Godsword > Saradomin Godsword (suggested but not needed)
  • Warrior helm > Helm of Neitznoit
  • Berserker ring (i) > Warrior ring (i)
  • Zamorak Chest or Karils leathertop
  • Bandos tassets > Veracs plateskirt
  • Amulet of Fury
  • Fire cape
  • Barrows Gloves
  • Dragon Boots

  • Spec Weapon
  • Guthans armor set
  • 4-6 Super combat potions
  • 1 Saradomin brew/restore
  • 3-7 Prayer potions

  • 2 trollheim tabs
  • Fire runes if you're bringing alchemy
  • Sharks for the rest, share with tank

Duo Tank

Mostly the same as advanced tank. AGS or SGS depending on preference. Pot share is very helpful as it doubles the usage of every potion.

Solo

Some tips for soloing:

  • Use the stepping under method mentioned above after every 2 hits & to eat (If you get flinch* hit you can do 3 attacks)
  • Use godsword spec on the second attack before stepping under
  • Everything in room is focused on you obviously. It's wise to eat under 60 HP to avoid getting comboed
  • It's suggested to have attack option priority on "depends on combat level" so you can left click walk under Graar
  • Stand under spawn when waiting to get a free flinch* hit
  • Quick prays to protect from melee, piety, and protect item
  • Don't be afraid to tab if Graardor is low health and you can't finish. You can come back and finish kill. Even if someone steals, it's not worth a potential death.

*Flinch hit refers to hitting a monster and having a slight delay before its retaliation. This is usually done flinching (standing underneath and waiting for HP bar to disappear, then attacking and quickly standing back under, not getting attacked by the NPC)
Flinching itself is not effective soloing because of the minions.

Gear

  • Abyssal Tentacle
