Summoning Guide! Empty Summoning Guide!

Post by Fear Revival 28/2/2011, 5:51 am

Table of Contents:
1. Introduction
2. Where to get charms
3. Banking routines.
4. What pouches to make
5. What each Familiar does

Part 1:
Introduction

Why should i get summoning?
Well the answer to that is simple. theres no reason not to. summoning can be trained on virtually any budget. (although the higher budgets will be able to train at a much faster pace). summoning does NOT affect your combat level in bh/pvp unless you are currently using it. a higher cb lvl outside of bh/pvp means less monsters will be agressive to you. summoning is usefull for carrying up to an extra 30 items! fighting monsters for you. healing you. and raising various skill lvls.

Quest:
1. To start summoning, you must Complete the quest 'Wolf Whistle' first you will need to buy 2 wolf bones either from the Grand Exchange, or you can kill two wolves anywhere. i chose to kill 2 wolves north of ardy.
2. once you have your 2 wolf bones. teleport to falador, or your house if its located in tavelry. talk to pikkupstix who is located near the gate to tavelry. after talking to him he will ask you to get rid of a rabbit upstairs.
3. go up the stairs for a shortcut scene of a giant rabbit (which you will run away from). then go talk to pikkupstix again.
4. he will tell you a bit about summoning and give you everything to make a spirit wolf pouch. use the key with the trap door and go downstairs.
5. click infuse pouch on the obelisk. (right clicking to make both pouches is not necessary during the quest) then click infuse pouch again. switch tabs to the "scrolls tab" and make a howl scroll.
6. go back upstairs for an intro on how to use a familiar.
7. go upstairs and summong a spirit wolf. use the special 'howl' then head downstairs again.
8. talk to pikkupstix one last time to complete the quest.

How to train Summoning:
summoning is trained by using an 'obelisk' to make a blank pouch into a summoning pouch. to do this you will need a different amoun tof psirit shards per pouch depending on the lvl fo the familiar. 1 charm of the color that familir requires. and 1 'second' wich is a random item that varies depending on the type of familiar

Part2:
Where to get charms.

Nice Summoning guide but it is really hard to read because there is too much words and no pictures maybe you could also add the number of pouches needed to infuse before we hit our targetted level

This is a very nice and informative guide. But like everyone else stated, colors and picture turn a good guide into an excellent guide.

Also, I think Rock Lobs' charm drops have changed along with hellhounds after the ring of wealth update.

Good guide, but along with adding pictures and colors, you could also hide the gold, green, crimson, and blue charm methods separately, so if someone just wants to look at once of them, he/she can just click on the spoiler for that specific charm.

->You might want to add making Pack yaks 96-99, and converting to scrolls because that actually yields more profit/less loss than selling pouches or pouch trade.

->Also KBD, if players have high herby can melee it with super anti-fire. I believe this is much quicker.

-> Lava titans are also a great alternative to geyser titans for blue charms, as they're much cheaper and you can gain tokkul/onyx bolt tips from killing tzhaar creatures.

-> Players with the summoning level for spirit kyatt may find it useful to teleport near the summoning location place, infusing pouches before using ring of kinship/tokkul-zo to tele to a nearby bank.
