Out of all the squeal discontinued items which would have the lowest amount that I could possibly stockpile and slightly control a market with, tree hats or something else? An estimate of tree hats ingame would also be nice, also a comment on whether it is worth doing (for fun and maybe a bit of profit). Thanks.

I have no idea on the estimate of any of those, but I can tell you doing something like trying to control the market would require alot of cash. I don't think it is worth it.
Also with the limit of 2/4 hours it would take quite some time.

Fish masks. They are discontinued and have a price of around 1M each i invested in them had a 4M profit per peice and then they fell

Fish masks have been on SoF for whole summer right? I believe they are the most common of SoF rares and thus possibly the worst choice if you want to "control the market".
You could possibly invest in them, but because of their low limit and slow price changes it's really not worth it imo.

None of the Sof Rares would be even slightly worth trying.

Their market is worth many, many billions and loads of people still have their stock, sitting on it and waiting to get out of a loss by someone else buying them out.
There are really lots of players that lost bank on these items, all thinking they had enough to control them or make them rise a lot, don't go down their path and make the same mistake.

The only thing you'll face by trying this is people consistently dumping billions worth on you every time there is a slightly decent rise.

Even if you did have the $ to buy out tree hats, we'll say ~1t gp at least, it would take you over 15 years to buy them all "instantly"

And even if you did, you'd still lose money.
