1. What are Spirit Shields?

Spirit Shields were released on the 15th of September, 2008. You can get sigils as drops from Corporeal Beast. You have to add this sigil to a blessed spirit shield (a normal spirit shield + Holy Elixer) to get the better spirit shields.
If you want to add the sigil to a blessed spirit shield, you will need 90 prayer and 85 smithing
If you want to wield those spirit shield you need pretty good stats:

To wear an Spectral Spirit Shield you will need 75 defence, 70 prayer and 65 magic
To wear an Arcane Spirit Shield you will need 75 defence, 70 prayer and 65 magic
To wear an Elysian Spirit Shield you will need 75 defence and 75 prayer
To wear an Divine Spirit Shield you will need 75 defence and 75 prayer



2. The use of Friend Chats

First of all I would like to warn all of you, prices in the friend chat can be wrong, sometimes people tell to high/low prices to change prices in their favour.

This guide is about flipping Spirit Shields, but I think it is also a good thing to also teach you guys about a friend chat channel used for other items.
There are two major friend chats in RuneScape that are used for flipping:

Fc Name	Items they cover
R Quark	H'ween Masks, Party Hats, Santa Hats, Easter Eggs, Pumpkins
Nex and SS	All Nex armour (Virtus, Pernix and Torva), and Spectral, Arcane, Elysian and Divine Spirit Shields

Now you might wonder what those friend chats do. Those friend chats will tell you the prices of item. This is really good for us because it is very expensive to find item prices on the the more expensive spirit shield if you do it yourself (as I will explain in chapter 4), so you can use this to make even more profit, I prefer the duo flipping method explained in chapter 3, but friend chats are an good thing if you can't duo flip because your friends do not want to or can't afford to.


3. Duo Flipping

As the name suggests, duo flipping is flipping items with two people.
Jagex made a hidden update to the Grand Exchange. Before the update, there was a counter on your item limit, where you could sell back the item to the Grand Exchange and your limit would be restored by how many you sold back. After the update, selling back items no longer restores your Grand Exchange limit.
For example:

Before Update:

Buy 2 Spectrals
Sell 2 Spectrals
(One flip completed)
Buy 2 Spectral
Sell 2 Spectrals

You could repeat this as much as you wanted in 4 hours time.

After Update:

Buy 2 Spectrals
Sell 2 Spectrals

You cannot repeat this until your 4 hour limit resets in 4 hour's time.

Due to this update it has become more important to get prices from somewhere else, because if you buy one to find the price, you can only buy one more to make profit. Since you lose cash with getting the buy and sell prices you will not make profit this way, but if you get the prices from someone else you can still flip 2 of them and make profit.

So the whole idea of duo flipping is getting the price of an item without having to use 50% of your limit.
This is how it works:

1. You both choose an item.
   
2. Person A chooses a Spectral Spirit Shield to price check. Person B chooses an Arcane Spirit Shield to price check
   
   
3. Person A tells Person B the buy and sell price of the Spectral Shield
   
4. Person B tells Person A the buy and sell price of the Arcane Shield
   
5. Both Merchants buy the second item in their limit and sell at the same margins to break even
   
6. Person A puts a buy offer at the price person B told him
   
7. Person B puts a buy offer at the price person A told him
   
8. Once person A's Arcanes have bought, he sells them at the price person B told him
   
9. Once person B's spectrals have bought, he sells them at the price person A told him

This process can be repeated with other items, or you can just wait until your limit is restored. If you plan on doing something else you can do this after you have put the sell-offer in the Grand Exchange, it will sell while you are doing something else. This is called inactive flipping


4. Finding Buying and Selling Prices

Of course you can only duo-flip if both of you know how do find prices, which isn't really hard, so I will explain what to do and give an example after.

Let's say you want to find the buying and selling prices of an Arcane Spirit Shield. The Grand Exchange price is 39m

You put a buy offer for 42m in the Grand Exchange. It did buys for 39,649,984 GP. This is your SELLING price.
Once it has bought, you sell it back to the Grand Exchange for, let's say 38m. It sells for 39,451,000 GP. This is your BUYING price.

So the lowest price of the two, is your buy price.
The highest price is the sell price.




5. Other Items Flipped With This Method

This method of flipping does not only work for Spirit Shields.
It does work for every item, but it's too much effort to do this on an item like dragon bones because you can just price check yourself, and then flip 999 instead of 1000.

It's a nice guide, however there is already a guide similar to this for flipping items witha limit of 2 in the tier 2 section that is stickied - although I do quite like the explanations on this one.

The one in tier 2 doesn't suggest using a partner. I like that idea.

Having a Partner while flipping seems like an interesting idea, Sooner or later I'm going to have to try this, never even heard of it prior to reading this. +Rep for the Idea

Just a Note to a bunch of people that may do this: Obviously make sure you can trust your Partner, They could easily Switch around the margins on you for self profit; Not saying all people will do that but pretty much just don't go pick up a random person. Lol

nice guide, also i think you should add that your friend doesn't really have to flip it for himself, if he's trusty he can flip for you you just give him the money

This method doesn't really work the same anymore since the SS limit was changed to 1/4hrs.

You can still do it I guess but profits would either be non existant or very low depending on which SS you use, since you cannot flip the shield you PC'd again to break even.

This is a nice guide. When I get more money from Low Wealth Flipping, I will give this a go!
