Overview
Hey guys! Some of you may have noticed my merchanting log here and I will still be continuing to update this, but I wanted to make this to help others understand or learn why I choose the items/methods I choose with hopes that they can apply these and profit as well . I am unfortunately busy these upcoming days, I just wanted to get this ready to update
- Week #1 - 4 Updates:
Starting Total Merchantable Bank: ~1080M
Ending Total Merchantable Bank:1,154M
Weekly summary - This week showed a large number of inactive flips using Nex and SS fc to get price ranges. I've been trying to do some more active flips when I can find a good chunk of time to stay online or around my computer but with my current work schedule (and especially with school coming up) the inactive flipping is a good idea. Overall this week I made about 70m
Date: July 28th
1 - Frost Dragon Bones - 800k - 5.3%
Active flip, took about 5-10 minutes total. This is a highly traded item and I upped my margin by buying outside of the range i got from the instant buy and sell. Quick and easy.- Spoiler:
2 - Virtus Wand - 21,000k - 3.6%
I don't often take pride in many flips, but this is one that I do :p. This was an overnight/inactive flip. Ever since the release of RS3 alot of the high level weapons and armor took a hit and now they're slowly going back up. Looking at past price checks on the nex and ss forum page i noticed it fluctuated heavily between day and night. I left an offer in over night and was shocked that they bought by morning. I sold my stock within an hour after putting in the offer .- Spoiler:
3 - Armadyl Godsword - 2,000k - 2.8%
Just another weapon that is rising after RS3, this one took about 2 hours to buy, and 1 hour to sell, hence why I was able to get the buy and sell into one screenshot- Spoiler:
4 - Torva Full helm - 1,900k|3,000k - 1.5%|2.2%
I included two flips for a reason. The first flip (1,900k) I bought during the night and was about to go to bed at 8am so i put the sell offer in (at this point my sleeping schedule was out of whack >.<). However when I put the offer in they sold in just a couple minutes. I was shocked that it had such a quick jump (an old mentor and I had a phrase for this kind of thing, but let's call it an "uneducated buy") that I quickly put another buy offer in for a little more than the price I bought for the first time. Within 10 minutes I bought another two, and sold them within an hour for even more profit. This shows that during the night when there are less players on, the margin fluctuates more than you could imagine.- Spoiler:
The days review: The high value items are started to get back to where they were, but they are fluctuating quite a bit so margins are higher than I ever expected. I had more flips today but I'm far too tired to post and alot of them are just the same items of Virtus weapons and Torva armour. Thats all I have for today :)If there is anything you think I could do to improve my merchanting or this thread in general let me know
Date:July 29th
5 - Clean dwarf weed - 1,600k - 1.6%
This one took most of the day, put the buy in overnight and let it sell throughout the day. Rather stable item to do this, I may do this more often.- Spoiler:
6 - Frost Dragon Bones - 999k - 6.3%
Just another quick flip while I trained firemaking. Showing again this is an awesome item to actively flip for quick profit.- Spoiler:
7 - Steadfast boots - 5,069k - 3.0%
Not gonna lie, i lost money on a flip of these since the release of rs3 but I noticed that they started to rise so i caught on and made a bit of my money back :p The buy took a few hours during the day but the sell was regrettably fast, i could have made more on these.- Spoiler:
8 - Zamorakian Spear - 2,000k - 4.4%
I tried to pc these early this morning and they surprisingly didn't buy, so I put a low ball offer in during the day for over mid and managed to sell in a few hours while I was in class. These are rather highly traded due to it being a decent 2h stab weapon and relatively cheap. This weapon is also the go-to weapon for corp.- Spoiler:
9 - Air orb - 699k - 4.7%
I found out about this item rising through youtube actually, I went to pc and it is indeed buying and selling for well over mid price. I was able to flip these within 1 hour.- Spoiler:
The days review Not a hugely profitable day, but some profit nonetheless. alot of these items took more time to buy than I thought so most of my ge slots were occupied for most of the day. Got a couple things cooking overnight, hopefully I can report some more big profits tomorrow .
Date:August 2nd
10 - Virtus Book - 4,000k - 1.5%
This was an investment, I find that alot of nex items rise from tuesday and wednesday onwards. I didn't get the margin I hoped for but I still made some money.- Spoiler:
11 - Divine Spirit Shield - 4,000k - 1.5%
Another short term investment with a spirit shield this time. I thought these would rise alot faster than they did. I'm not sure if you're seeing a pattern, I'm not good on investments :p or atleast not many.- Spoiler:
12 - Ahrim's book of magic - 1,800k - 1.7%
This one actually wasn't an investment. I saw this item flipped somewhere on the forums and thought.... why not try it out. I got a bit nervous when they bought below mid but I got a decent margin and profit from it- Spoiler:
13 - Virtus Wand - 14,000k - 1.7%
Ol' faithful :p this followed the same trend as the Virtus book and Divine in this update. The mid to late week rise but this one gave me more cash.- Spoiler:
The days review Alot of these are investments because my gf and I had our anniversary this week, and I've been studying for exams. I hope to get some lower wealth flips soon.
Date: August 4th
14 - Magic Logs - 2,527k - 6.1%
I missed one screenshot, essentially i bought them for 1800 each and sold for 1,910. The one i missed i sold for 2k+ each but no proof so I'll report this. Not entirely sure what happened. They did a very big jump randomly during the day, but regardless of this Magic logs are a good item to actively flip.- Spoiler:
15 - Dragon platebody - 1,981k - 1.5%
I let these buy overnight and i sold them in about 2 hours after putting in the sell offer. These are fairly stable and are good to actively or inactively flip. One thing I see with people buying overnight is that they only do 1 ge limit, and unless you are sleeping for less than 8 hours I view that as a waste.- Spoiler:
16 - Zaryte Bow - 1,310k - 0.7%
This was done at night est, nex and ss hadn't been updated in a while and i took a shot at the bow and they instant bought. I thought nothing of it as it rises during the day, so i put a sell offer in and it sold that same night within an hour. So don't fret if you accidentally instant buy something from an fc. It bugs me when people claim they "lost money" when they instant buy due to a lack of pc updates.- Spoiler:
17 - Red dragonhide - 780k - 1.7%
sadly this went from an inactive flip to a short term investment, taking a couple days to sell. Prices fluctuate cyclically unless there isn't a major update to them- Spoiler:
18 - Virtus book - 5,601k - 3.5%
Short term investment, high level weapons and armour going through their weekend rise. I snagged these early in the weekend and they sold for instant above mid.- Spoiler:
The days review - Not too bad, trying to do more lower wealth flips for you guys. Busy studying too so I'll see what I can do :p enjoy guys
- Week #2 - 3 Updates:
Starting Total Merchantable Bank: ~1,115m
Ending Total Merchantable Bank:
Weekly summary -
Date:August 18th
1 - Ahrim's Set - 900k - 3.3%
This was actually an entry for a weekly profit challenge amongst the ranks. Fairly good profit i was able to buy within a few hours very late EST and managed to sell before 11am the following day- Spoiler:
2 - Saradomin Godsword - 602k - 0.2%
I noticed this was dropping so i got a smaller margin to make it quicker at the sacrifice of less profit. I just didn't want to lose too much money on these by holding on too long.- Spoiler:
3 - Oak Plank - 160k - 2.8%
This was fairly quick, took about an afternoon to buy and sell. Just another resource item for a skill, and wanted some more active flips for myself and for you guys- Spoiler:
4 - Black Dragonhide - 1,000k - 1.9%
Just another active flip, this one took a while to buy but was rather quick to sell. I just wanted to get another resource quick flip. I was looking for something that would take up a good chunk of my cashpile so none gets wasted- Spoiler:
5 -Dragon Bones - 1,500k - 1.2%
This is one that I let soak overnight since I knew I wouldn't be able to login for a while. Dragon bones typically have decent margins and vary throughout the day which is why I was confident I would make some money with it- Spoiler:
The days review - Got some more active flips :Dnothing too big today, got some stuff lined up in a bit once I get around to posting it lol. Enjoy
Date: August 21st
1 - Virtus Wand - 10,000k - 2.0%
This was lucky because I caught it before it rose due to the Vorago change that made the nex and ss items go weird. This was took a few hours to buy and a few hours to sell, I managed to do some other quick flips.- Spoiler:
2 - Ascension Keystone Tertius - 5,000k - 8.5%
This was an extremely long flip I do not recommend this unless you want to make a few mil over a few days. I've been looking for some new items to flip and I remembered that I did one of the ascension keys a while back so I tried another one. Even though it did make profit it hogged a ge slot for a couple days and it was a loss when you take opportunity cost.- Spoiler:
3 - Dragon full helm - 950k - 1.8%
I was looking for items and I saw someone suggest Dragon Hatchet on the forums. I did try them (you'll see them in a bit) but I thought 'Hey I remember when dragon full helm was an item suggested by Lucky when I was a trainee'. So I tried it out while I was waiting for the above Virtus wand to sell and I made some quick profit- Spoiler:
4 - Virtus Wand - 5,000k - 0.8%
Another quick one after my previous limit reset. Used Nex and SS fc for price. Not much to say about this it took about an hour to buy and sell.- Spoiler:
The days review - Still loving Nex and SS for their price ranges. I'm glad I was reminded of Dragon full helm and dragon hatchet, got some quick profit on them both :)I may never do ascension keys again unless there is some kind of imminent update about them, they just take too long.
Date:August 22nd
1 - Green h'ween mask - 2,800k - 1.1%
Recently nex and ss items have been changing due to vorago and new skill coming up so I've been looking at rares on Merchz graphs and I remembered i haven't done a mask flip in a long time :orelatively stable for a rare and this flip took about a day.- Spoiler:
2 - Dragon Hatchet - 1,000k - 2.8%
Notes about the flip- Spoiler:
3 - Torva Platebody - 1,102k - 0.6%
While torva was crashing this week I watched it on Merchz and caught it just before it went back up. This flip took less than an hour, I could have held for more but I was happy with this profit.- Spoiler:
4 - Blue h'ween mask - 2,000k - 0.6%
Another rare flip since I'm on a roll with them. This one took all night to buy and sold during the day while at work. I used Merchz to follow this which gets its information from r_quark.- Spoiler:
The days review - mix of active and inactive this update :p I'm glad I got back into rares. Making some money and flipping items that I enjoyed flipping in the past
- Week #3 Sept 8th-14th:
Starting Total Merchantable Bank:~1475m
Ending Total Merchantable Bank:~1570m
Weekly summary - In my past week I keep going back to my regular nex and ss items, and even though they give me a good amount of profit I definitely want to expand my item list.
Date: September 9th
1 - Green h'ween - 1,000k - 0.8%
Merchz helped me find this one :p while scrolling through on my way to the nex and ss items. Without merchz these can be found in r_quark fc. This one I would say was a slow active flip taking an hour to buy and 2 to sell.- Spoiler:
2 - Santa Hat - 6,800k - 2.2%
Had a good streak so far with rares so I thought I'd try another. This one ended up being an overnight buy and by the morning I saw they had risen. So i sold within 30 min. Through merchz watching over the r_quark chat.- Spoiler:
The days review - Well there you have it, some good rare flips for some variety :p its getting late so I'm going to get off to bed. happy merchanting
Date: September 10th
1 - Virtus Wand - 5,100k - 1.4%
Not much really to say here. I had some spare cash while flipping some of those rares in my last update. Got my prices from nex and ss. Unfortunately this took overnight to sell, I was hoping for a quicker turn around.- Spoiler:
2 - Divine Spirit Shield - 1,400k - 1.4%
This was an accidental instant buy that made me profit in less than an hour. once again don't freak when you instantly buy something when you didnt mean to- Spoiler:
3 - Virtus Wand - 10,000k - 1.7%
Look! :|Another wand flip :|did you really expect anything else? :|Ok so I broke down again and did another limit of wands. More nex and ss, took a couple hours total.- Spoiler:
The days review - Trying to get more non-fc stuff i swear ._.
Date: Sept 13th (OOOO friday the 13th)
1 - Grenwall spikes - 400k - 1.7%
Hooray! a non-fc item. These have been more recently traded ever since the addition of divine box traps and such. It took an hour to buy and about 4 hours to sell.- Spoiler:
2 - Mort myre fungus - 1,294,695 - 17.9%
This was an accidental success but i do know why it was successful. This flip was done around the time of divination's release so nobody was collecting it. Demand rose, and so did the price. it took about a day to buy and 2-3 hours to sell.- Spoiler:
3 - Virtus wand - 5,000k - 0.8%
Back to my usual, just a quick limit while waiting for the aboves to buy and sell. took less than 4 hours in total.- Spoiler:
4 - Virtus mask - 4,400k - 11.7%
While i was getting the price range for the wands above I noticed that the masks took a little dip in price. When looking at Merchz this dip was irregular and i jumped on the opportunity to make some money. They took 30 minutes to buy and i sold them overnight.- Spoiler:
5 - Virtus Wand - 50,000k - 4.0%
This was a week long investment while i was inactive at the very beginning of september. I put a good chunk of my cash into wands hoping they would rise due to a vorago update. Lady luck (and our general Lucky) was on my side because the vorago cycle this week needed a mage offence. I could have made another 50m but they sold while i was gone so I couldn't adjust the sale price. I also made 16m (10.5%) on 8 virtus masks (also an investment) but I misplaced my sell pic =/- Spoiler:
The days review - So i've started to get some non-fc items. :)i had a good investment while i was inactive but i need to make sure i take pictures of everything
Date:Sept 14th
1 - Off-hand drygore longsword - 734k - 1.2%
Found on Merchz, which is advertising the fc 90weaps_pc, just had cash sitting around and wanted to put it to use. This one was faster than expected, only taking 10 min to buy and 30 to sell.- Spoiler:
2 - Purple partyhat - 8,000k - 0.6%
I finally did it! This is something I've been working up to, I saved up enough money and r_quark fc gave the prices. It took 2 hours to buy and about 8 to sell.- Spoiler:
3 - Elysian Spirit Shield - 800k - 1.6%
So since most of my money was taken up in the purple phat flip, I needed some smaller and quicker flips to make use of the money I had left over and this is one of them. Got the price from Nex and SS, took about 4 hours to buy and sell- Spoiler:
4 - Dragon Hatchet - 658k - 1.5%
When I pced this item it had a huge range, but it was below the mid price. I lowballed it and left it overnight and in the morning the full limit was bought. It took 3 hours after that to sell, and i did sell for lower than mid but profit was still made.- Spoiler:
The days review - Did my first phat flip :Dmade some good profit today and I might have some more phat flips in the future if things work out well. Just need to put the rest of my money to work while the phats buy/sell.
- Week #4 - 4 updates:
Starting Total Merchantable Bank:~1,940M
Ending Total Merchantable Bank:
Weekly summary Last week I began getting into rares, including phats, as well as some regular non-fc items. This week i do hope to do even more with 400m invested in me from my investment bank
Date: Sept 18th
1 - Palm tree seed - 283.4k - 2.7%
Haven't done these in a while. Been thinking about past things that I would flip on a daily basis and this one popped into my mind :)It took about 5 hours to buy and sadly another ~18 to sell- Spoiler:
2 - Purple Partyhat - 5,000k - 0.4%
Noticed the price dipped a bit in r_quark so I left an offer in over night and made some quick profit. It sold in about 10 hours (I was in class). This item was the reason I re-opened my investment bank actually, as I had very little cash to flip with while holding this item- Spoiler:
3 - Frost Dragon Bones - 400k - 2.6%
Looking back in my merch log I saw that I frequently flipped frost dragon bones and going back to it was a success. It took about 1 hour to buy and about 3 hours to sell.- Spoiler:
The days review - Not a bad start so far, expanding beyond nex and ss but knowing me I'll be back there soon.
Date: Sept 19th
1 - Easter Egg - 1,000k - 1.3%
Just scrolling through Merchz and found this. I looked up the recorded chat for r_quark that Merchz does and noticed that it had been updated recently so I set an offer in and in a couple hours it was completed :)I left it overnight to sell so it took anywhere from 30 minutes to 9 hours to sell.- Spoiler:
2 - Santa hat - 2,000k - 1.1%
Another one like the above, I had some money left over and wanted to fill my ge slots. I left this to buy overnight while the above was selling and saw it went up overnight but i snagged a buy. Took an hour to sell- Spoiler:
3 - Seismic singularity - 11,333k - 1.3%
just more scrolling through merchz and saw this dip late at night, couldnt resist leaving an offer overnight. Bought overnight, rose while I slept, and sold it within 2 hours of waking up.- Spoiler:
4 - Grimy dwarf weed - 1,990k - 2.4%
Haven't flipped these in a while. I stopped flipping herbs once torstols crashed hard after the ovl nerf. this took about 8 hours to buy and another 24 to sell. Not as fast as I hoped and i may not go back to these often.- Spoiler:
The days review - Making alot of overnight snags. This was an area that I lacked confidence in and I'm glad to see some of my ventures working well
Date:Sept 20th
1 - Virtus Book - 4,800k - 2.7%
And I step back into my comfort zone with virtus book. somewhat stable with some fluctuation i keep going back to this for one simple reason: easy profits. this one too less than an hour to buy and an hour to sell, nice and easy. I only had 3/5 because i was just looking to put all my money to work that I had left over from an expensive flip.- Spoiler:
2 - Seismic singularity - 6,177k - 0.7%
This has been fluctuating decently the last couple days. I had an 11m flip yesterday so i caught the tails of a rise today and made some cash. This happened to be an accidental instant sell, and bought within 2 hours.- Spoiler:
3 - Ragefire boots - 1,365k - 2.8%
Haven't done these in a while. Fairly stable and easy flip, was just looking to fill my ge slots again. 1 hour to buy and 90min to sell.- Spoiler:
4 - Mages' book - 650k - 4.9%
In expanding my list of items to flip i found this old gem again and it had a rather large margin. I let it buy overnight and sell in about 4 hours during the day.- Spoiler:
Date:Sept 21
1 - Steadfast boots - 855k - 0.6%
In the trend of ragefires last time i got steads this time! I put the buy offer in before i went to class the other day so it took max 3 hours to buy, but took 2hrs to sell in the evening- Spoiler:
2 - Yellow Partyhat - 9,000k - 0.6%
THIS! THIS is the reason why I was using smaller cash piles :Peven though it took a day to buy and a day to sell I'm glad i'm able to get another phat flip, and first of this color. Got the prices from r_quark and Merchz- Spoiler:
3 - Armadyl Chestplate - 150k - 2.4%
Finish this off with a pc101 flip. I got the price off merchz but they watch pc101 fc so thats where they originated. This took an hour to buy and sadly about 5 to sell. I don't often go to that fc and thats why.- Spoiler:
The days review - Finally able to report my 3rd phat flip, and reaching to the second colour. Good day for flipping, good week for scaping.
- Week #5 - 4 updates:
Starting Total Merchantable Bank:~1,822M
Ending Total Merchantable Bank:~1,847M
Weekly summary: Still alot of inactives, been trying my best to get some out of the ordinary and active flips.
Date: Sept 25th
1 - Armadyl battlestaff - 1,500k - 1.0%
This is something I haven't flipped in a while and when I pced I noticed the buy and sell price were below mid. I threw a lowball offer in and went to class. It took 1-2 hours to buy and about 3 to sell later in the evening.- Spoiler:
2 - Drygore longsword - 828k - 1.0%
This was also something i bought before going to class. It looks like the margin jumped up and I got a little impatient. 0-2 hours to buy and instant sell. I like this item cuz it is relatively stable and quick- Spoiler:
3 - Yellow Partyhat - 4,000k - 0.3%
I had a lower margin to speed things up. This actually bought overnight and sold within 6 hours. This is where the majority of my cash stack went for the day.- Spoiler:
The days review - Nothing much for today, had quite a few classes and little time to spend online.
Date: September 27th
1 - Virtus boots - 600k - 3.9%
When I got home from work in the early hours of the morning, I put a low ball offer in since prices tend to drop during the night. It bought during the night and sold within 30 minutes (i went to get my morning coffee)- Spoiler:
2 - Ahrim's Robe skirt - 350k - 5.1%
This was an active flip while I was in between classes. I had a larger sum of my money tied up and barrows items are fairly stable. It bought within my hour break, but sold within 3 hours. It could have sold faster but I was in class while it was selling.- Spoiler:
3 - Saradomin Sword - 550k - 5.6%
Another active flip. This was bought within the hour as the one above, but the buy and sell did take less than an hour as it was done within my hour break. This is something I haven't flipped in a long time. I'm glad its still decent profit because it's a lower wealth item (in my eyes).- Spoiler:
4 - Divine Spirit Shield - 1,500k - 1.9%
This was i semi active flip i did in the evening. Most of my time was spent training div and doing some homework so I set an offer in for a divine and it bought within an hour, but didn't sell for 4 hours =/. Unfortunate but a rather nice margin- Spoiler:
The days review - Got some more active flips in! hopefully I can show off the power of my entire cashpile in a bit.
Date:September 28th
1 - Virtus Wand - 2,750k - 0.4%
This can be either a long active flip, or quick inactive. I've been busy with gta V lately :> so I would spend little time on rs. So I'd log in every couple hours or so to check my ge offers or do daily challenge and such. Anyways I choose this item yet again because it is my main go to, it flips rather fast, and it uses up most a good chunk of my cash pile. In total it took ~ 4 hours.- Spoiler:
2 - Pernix Body - 1,200k - 2.3%
This is me trying to go outside of higher priced fc items, and going for lower priced fc items. Actually really happy with this item in regards to the margin. I picked it because it was recently updated in the fc and this took about 2 hours to flip.- Spoiler:
3 - Drygore longsword - 1,000k - 1.2%
Another fc item, but different fc! Prices found in 90weaps pc, this was a very active flip only taking 30 minutes in total. I enjoy the drygore items because they are fast and easy to flip, not to mention fairly stable!- Spoiler:
4 - Seismic Singularity - 5,000k - 0.6%
Boom another big profit flip with a singularity. Referring to Merchz for the prices this was the longest flip of the day. taking 4 hours to buy and 1.5-2 to sell. This always seems to fluctuate in my favour, but be warned it fluctuates regularly.- Spoiler:
The days review - Doing well in GTA V and well also with flipping :Punfortunately the high cashpile flip I mentioned last time sadly fell through :(perhaps next time.
Date: Sept 29th
1 - Zaryte bow - 1,000k - 0.7%
This was actually an active flip :oi've been noticing that the z bows have been relatively stable after slowly dropping from 100m ._.- Spoiler:
2 - Virtus Wand - 2,000k - 0.3%
This was another active flip, and i tried to make it so by lowering my margin. another stable and regularly updated item.- Spoiler:
3 - Green h'ween mask - 4,000k - 2.9%
This was a short investment taking a couple days. I rather forgot about it in my bank and when i checked up the price i was glad to see it rose- Spoiler:
4 - Master Wand - 150k - 2.1%
This was actually something i saw in someone elses merch log and I decided to try it myself. sadly the margin was larger when i first pc'd but i still managed to get a decent percent margin. This took 6 hours in total.- Spoiler:
The days review - More fc items, and I do apologize but i enjoy the frequent updates.
Starting Total Merchantable Bank:~ 2007m
Ending Total Merchantable Bank:
Weekly summary - Explain your thoughts on the weeks activities in a paragraph or 2, what you might have done wrong, what you can improve and what you think you got right etc.
Date: Oct 2nd
1 - Virtus robe legs - 2,000k - 5.1%
First flip of the week! a nice inactive one that pushes the margin. When i put the offer in overnight I low balled it because often items like these drop in price during the night and rise during the day. This is exactly what happened.- Spoiler:
2 - Glaiven boots - 2,000k - 4.7%
I had ragefires and steadfast boots last week and now it was time to complete the trio. I was nervous flipping these because they had dropped in price to lower than the ragefires even despite having the same armour bonuses. Either way i played it like the virtus robes above and went beyond the original margins.- Spoiler:
3 - Seismic singularity - 8,000k - 0.9%
This may be the first time this has been actively flipped by me. With my rather frequent checks on Merchz i noticed this had been on the rise so I jumped in the fc to get up to the second updates and caught a lucky flip with great profits- Spoiler:
4 - Dragon platebody - 1,900k - 3.6%
This used to be an item I would regularly and actively flip. since it dropped in price from rs3 i dont flip it as often, but there are still good margins to be had. This one i didn't bother going outside my margins like with previous items above because it was a slower buy and sell.- Spoiler:
The days review - Off to an incredible start today with some high profits and high margins
Date: October 3rd
1 - Dragon hatchet - 2020k - 5.0%
Loving these dragon items. I chose this item because has been stable for a while since its toolbelt fiasco. This actually ended up being an active flip and I may continue doing this in the future.- Spoiler:
2 - Dragon chainbody - 940k - 4.4%
Continuing with dragon items i have the chainbody lined up! I didn't expect this to be a fast sell but I did manage to sell it within an hour. I guess that does mean people end up using this, such as broke lower levels. It has been on the rise recently for reasons that i don't know, but it was a good flip regardless- Spoiler:
3 - Seismic singularity - 8,000k- 1.0%
Another quick and easy fc flip. This has been rising like crazy recently, even as I type this 90weaps pc is listing it as 1000m s so it may be risky to flip this from here on.- Spoiler:
4 - Drygore rapier - 750k - 0.9%
Yet another quick flip, did my best to get the biggest margin but the margins were jumping around in the afternoon. I could have made more but i sadly grew impatient. This is a stable item so even if it does dip in price it's bound to rise back up.- Spoiler:
The days review - Some good profit and a range of prices. I keep trying to flip a green partyhat but i keep on failing. The release of bonds has dropped the phat prices quite a bit and I keep getting greedy thoughts
Date: Oct 4th
1 - Drygore Mace - 1,300k - 1.5%
While chilling in 90weaps Pc because the singularity is going crazy mid day, I passed the time by quickly flipping a drygore mace. I was able to increase my margin by buying for lower than the last report and selling higher than the most recent sell report.- Spoiler:
2 - Hood of Subjugation - 180k - 6.3%
I've never been a fan of PC101 fc because their items dont use my cashpile to it full possibility. But i guess this is to show you guys that it is possible to use their PCs.- Spoiler:
3 - Virtus wand - 3,278k - 2.2%
The buy was an offer i left in overnight but in the morning..... I only had one. I left for class thinking it may fill a bit more but nothing :|Upon checking the FC the prices rose alot and the sell was instant. I believe this raise was for the recent vorago cycle.- Spoiler:
4 - Seismic singularity - 5,000k - 0.5%
This was a quick flip while it rose the past day or so. Imagine how I felt when i realise if i held for a day and a half i would have profited 200m... but tis difficult to predict rises and falls.- Spoiler:
5 - Green Partyhat - 4,500k - 0.3%
The centerpiece of the evening! This partyhat has been giving me trouble when it comes to flipping it these past few days. I kept track of it for about an hour in rquark and set a lowball offer. Kept checking on rs throughout the day and as soon as I bought it i put the sell offer in. Green's have been declining alot each day due to the release of bonds or perhaps even the rise in seismic weapons making people want some.- Spoiler:
The days review - Some good profits today. Finally managed to snag a good green flip making it my third partyhat color. Looking forward to Red once my cashpile assembles :p
Date:
1 - Black Mask (10) - 213,823 - 2.4%
I believe this is my first flip for black mask, but this margin went crazy over the weekend with both upper and lower ends always changing. The sell was mostly instant as I was out while it was buying. I guess the lesson is to always check your prices before you buy and sell.- Spoiler:
2 - Vesta's longsword - 1,385k - 3.1%
Shockingly, this was also my first VLS flip! This actually took all weekend. I'm guessing the supply and demand for this item isn't very high! So fair warning to attempted merches this may take a long time.- Spoiler:
3 - Royal Torsion Spring - 209,540 - 13.2%
I'm glad with the margins on this one :p I've attempted Royal crossbow items before but this was a very successful one. Knowing that others were flipping them I raised my selling price higher than my original pc. This is also a more commonly traded item as many people do QBD.- Spoiler:
4 - Black Mask (10) - 650k - 7.8%
Refer to other black mask flip.- Spoiler:
5 - Royal Torsion Spring - 259,853 - 17.8%
Refer to other Torsion Spring flip.- Spoiler:
6 - Black Dragonhide set - 104,012 - 6.5%
I tend to buy more of the untanned dragonhide than the armour itself but this was an interesting flip. Because of the competition I did expect this to rise so I put the higher selling price. Although pvp clans are no more, which i believe were the main demand for this, there was still a small demand for it. But that is just it, a small market.- Spoiler:
Proofs:
The days review - This day's update was brought to you by the flipping competition run by Gonecase from Group Billious!
- Week #6 - 4 Updates:
- Starting Total Merchantable Bank: ~2147M
Ending Total Merchantable Bank:
Weekly summary - I had a loan for this so I was around max cash. was nice to see it :3.
Date: Oct 16th
1 - Virtus Wands - 2,500k - 0.3%
Another quick flip. I used nex and ss to get my prices. I chose this item because it is updated rather frequently and takes up a large sum of my cash in a short time.- Spoiler:
2 - Wyvern bones - 345k - 7.3%
I was interested in flipping some higher end secondaries for herblore/summon and this one was quite successful :Dthis was quick, quicker actually than the herbs i usually do.- Spoiler:
3 - Raw Rocktail - 1,186k - 2.5%
This was meant to be an active flip but it was taking way to long. So I let it soak as long as my patience would let me then I put the sell offer. Not sure why these were rising at the time but they are fairly stable as a high level food item- Spoiler:
The days review - Just a quick update today, school is taking up most of my time which is why i did not have an update for the past week.
Date:Oct 18th
1 - Virtus wand - 2,500k - 0.3
This took alot longer than expected, the margins were moving and at first they dipped down. But I stuck with it and profited in the end- Spoiler:
2 - Ascension Crossbow - 4,500k - 0.9%
This was something to pass the time :p They're fairly stable with some predictable fluctuations between day and night.- Spoiler:
3 - Gilded Platebody - 200k - 4.8%
I've been meaning to try some TT items, recently saw a flip on a gilded item so I thought i'd take a stab at it. It took a long time to sell so it wasn't a good use of time but the margins were decent.- Spoiler:
The days review - Been really busy today, alot going on at school >.< but some good profits.
Date: Oct 19th
1 - Seismic Singularity - 158,000k - 17.7%
SO uhhhhh..... this happened. I discussed this with Divine about how this could possibly happen. At first i thought it was a freak chance. Divine had the theory that someone who was banned while the offer was in the ge recently got unbanned. I have no idea what to say about this except, sometimes you get really lucky.- Spoiler:
2 - Magic Logs - 348k - 2,7%
Recently I've been trying to fill a limit of this but it fluctuates quite a bit each day so it never fills and I lose patience. Keep your patience everyone.- Spoiler:
3 - Virtus Book - 2405k - 3.4%
whats an update without a virtus item :p I chose this because the virtus wands were becoming unstable but I noticed the price checks in nex and ss weren't varying too much. I also only did one because I was working on another partyhat flip- Spoiler:
The days review - Nothing too special.... aww who am I kidding i got the biggest profit off of one flip ever and only in a couple seconds! it was amazing.
Date: Oct 20th
1 - Seer's Ring - 260k - 4.5%
Had some spare coin laying around so I looked in my bank for a relatively inexpensive item to flip and I found this. I was shocked at how quickly it flipped. Not a bad percent margin on it too, its a good item to start flipping with low cash.- Spoiler:
2 - Red Partyhat - 3,000k - 0.2%
Another colour off the list! The only ones left are more than max cash... so dont expect that soon. I've been trying to get this for a while now, but ever since the introduction of bonds these have been dropping each day. Maybe you'll see more of these when they stabilize.- Spoiler:
3 - Arcane Sigil - 2,000k  - 9.3%
While chilling in Nex and SS i noticed that arcane spirit shields were rising. But instead of going to the shields which a number of people would have done, I jumped at the sigil which was cheaper and a major component of the shield. May try these again, it turned out quite well.- Spoiler:
The days review - Some different items today, felt really good about the sigil i may look into doing these more often.
- Week #7:
Starting Total Merchantable Bank:1667M
Ending Total Merchantable Bank:
Weekly summary
Date:Nov 6th
1 - Adamant Bar - 2,008k - 5.6%
Managed to catch this on an uprise. I'm unsure why they were rising, but they sold very quickly. I do believe this was around when they made a bonus exp announcement. Game news and updates are a good way to predict items rising or falling.- Spoiler:
2 - Divine Sigil - 6,222k - 8.8%
I flipped an arcane sigil in a recent update and it was a success. watching over Nex and SS i noticed that Divine spirit shields were rising. Nervous that this rise would turn into myself loosing money. I chose divine sigil because they would rise if the spirit shield was rising so that time was the time to take advantage of that, and it was successful. Always take note of prerequisite items when something is rising.- Spoiler:
The days review - Not a bad start from a few weeks break :p
Date:Nov 7th
1 - Amulet of Fury - 9,986k - 12.4%
This weeks trend is catching upward trends. I did this item often before they began to decrease in price but they seem to have relatively stable recently so I caught this train. I picked this originally to use up some money but they began to rise again and the reason for that is over my head =/- Spoiler:
2 - off-hand dragon crossbow - 6,089k - 4.5%
Another upward trend! I like dragon crossbows because they use up a good chunk of cash and tend to have larger margins. It rose faster than I could buy the full limit sadly- Spoiler:
3 - Dragon Limbs - 24,240k - 12.4%
On noticing that my off-hand dragon crossbow flip was taking a very long time I checked out the limbs, a prerequisite item, and saw they were much cheaper than the crossbow. I bought my limit as fast as I could and it paid off very well.- Spoiler:
The days review - Really good profits, especially with prerequisite items.
Date:Nov 9th
1 - Ragefire Boots - 1,080k - 1.8%
The lesser of the glacor boots, but always a quick turn in profit. I tend to do these boots after I've done steadfasts and/or glaivens just to complete the trio. Or whenever I need to put some cash to work.- Spoiler:
2 - Glaiven Boots - 1,422k - 2.3%
Had a bit more cash available after the ragefires so I put them into the glaivens. These are a little slower than the ragefires but definitely pull more profit.- Spoiler:
3 - Armadyl battlestaff - 1,530k - 1.1%
This item used to give me alot of trouble, its become relatively more stable but i cut my profit in order to speed it up. Not a bad item, we just have bad history.- Spoiler:
4 - Zamorakian Spear - 900k - 2.4%
I highly recommend this item for those with mid wealth, its fast and pumps out some good percent margins. I was working on some higher priced items and had a smaller cash pile to work with.- Spoiler:
The days review - Alot of mid wealth items, nothing too special.
Date: Nov 10th
1 - Dragon platebody - 1,000k - 1.8%
This is something that I've made a regular item. Its quick and easy and is good for mid wealth- Spoiler:
2 - Dragon Full Helm - 1,002k - 1.6%
Yet another good item I can recommend for mid wealths. This is another quick item that is more than easy to do.- Spoiler:
3 - Torva Platebody - 1,600k - 1.5%
The prices I got were from Nex and SS fc. Torva tends to be a regularly updated item as people regularly flip it. This was a bit slower because the margin dropped after I bought it. However, sticking with it they did sell overnight .- Spoiler:
4 - Virtus Book - 6,250k - 1.9%
Another Nex and SS item, i was lucky enough to catch this on an up trend as well. I like to flip because it also is updated frequently.- Spoiler:
The days review - Not the greatest day, trying to get a higher price item.

Re: Lil_me's Merchanting Diary
- week#8:
- Starting Total Merchantable Bank:~1700M
Ending Total Merchantable Bank:~1710M
Weekly summary - Treasure trail week! I'm glad to be getting more comfortable with items like this and just the overall expansion of my portfolio
Date:Nov 11th
1 - Raw Shark - 546k - 6.5%
In anticipation for the barrows update I tried flipping some raw sharks, also didn't choose cooked sharks because they were already going up. As you can see I was unable to fill a limit due to A) it raising quickly and B) a lower buy price to try and maximise profit.- Spoiler:
2 - Ahrim's wand - 1,402k - 10.8%
Originally this was meant to be an active flip, but I forgot about the barrows update so the prices took off before I could fill a limit. Barrows items are a relatively stable item except for the odd update.- Spoiler:
3 - Ahrim's book of Magic - 2,955k - 5.0%
Trying to complete the pair of main hand and off hand magic weapons, still failing to fill a limit. I'm not too upset, it means the price is rising, but one day I'll get a full limit.- Spoiler:
4 - Dragon platebody - 1,500k - 3.0%
The want to fill a limit, brought me to an old faithful. Dragon platebody is something I enjoy flipping because its easy, low wealth, and very stable.- Spoiler:
The days review - Good start to the week. The rest of the week is going to be treasure trail items, just a heads up.
Date:Nov 12th
1 - purple sweets - 98k - 2.0%
Participating in the treasure trail flipping competition for the highest percent. At first I thought it was just for most profit and I remembered that these are more frequently traded (especially since limit is 1000)- Spoiler:
2 - Robin Hood Hat - 250k - 6.2%
Still thinking I was going for max profit, I went looking for a higher priced item and found this one. I got a rough estimate of prices from Merchz and did my best to push my margin higher. Got a pretty good flip percentage too.- Spoiler:
3 - Gilded kiteshield - 118k - 13.2%
Finally realising that its about percent.... I went for other items with a 2 limit because I knew I could try and push my percentage higher (also going for lower priced items).- Spoiler:
4 - Zamorak Platebody - 130k - 6.1%
Another semi popular item, was hoping it would be rising due to the possible oldschool update look for them but meh.- Spoiler:
5 - Zamorak page 3 - 100k - 10%
originally bought this instantly for like 20% below mid..... so I put an offer really low and managed to get this. The pages have a good percent margin, may try these a bit more...- Spoiler:
6 - Ranger boots - 140k - 1.1%
This took alot longer than expected, not sure why. I eventually gave up on it due to me reading the rules of the flipping contest <.< so I cut my profit to open up the ge space.- Spoiler:
The days review - Getting a hang of these treasure trail items, hoping to make more gainz (cant believe i said that)
Date:Nov 12th
1 - Zamorak page 4 - 50k - 5.8%
Continuing with the idea of god pages, I ventured over to zammy page 4. Just trying to find one that I can push the margin. Sadly I was unable to fill the limit :|I guess not a whole lot of people do clue scrolls anymore.- Spoiler:
2 - purple sweets - 500k - 10.0%
Attempt number 2 at purple sweets. Definitely made more money but at the cost of time. This actually took a few days to sell, but only an hour to buy.- Spoiler:
3 - Black Dragon Mask - 200k - 1.3%
Looking up other treasure trail items and found this one. While i had my for sure winner buying/selling i was doing my best to get other treasure trail items to get some nice profit :p This was surprisingly fast, may try this again.- Spoiler:
4 - Zamorak page 3 - 200k - 1.3%
Another regret buy. The pages have been crashing since the books of become rather obsolete so I do NOT recommend flipping them. This took a couple days as well and wasted a ge slot =/. Originally looking for a larger percent but had to cut it short.- Spoiler:
The days review - The profit margins are high, and so are the risks..... and the amount of time they are taking D:
Date:Nov 13th
1 - Ranger boots - 460k - 3.6%
Going back to an item and trying to make it a bigger success. I guess I caught things at a good time, oddly it was late morning EST, but I got a larger profit.- Spoiler:
2 - Robin hood hat - 340k - 8.4%
Same idea as above. Getting more comfortable with the items has allowed me to venture out and push my margins without fear. you can definitely see the improvement of either the percent or the pure profit with the progression of this week.- Spoiler:
The days review - A few less flips today, have alot of offers sitting and trying to get some studying in for my midterms >.<
Date:Nov 15th
1 - Third-age platebody - 3,400k - 0.7%
This is probably my prized jewel for the profit. This took the longest, originally buying because I thought the competition was for pure profit. I definitely am getting more comfortable with treasure trail items and I think I'm gonna do these more.- Spoiler:
2 - Bandos Page 1 - 120k - 100.0%
Expanding through the pages as they do seem to have huge margins. Looking at the other flips where the percent is HUGE, I noticed they are less common items that are lower priced; the kind of low price where people have no problem clicking the -5% button a tonne if they really don't need it or the +5% button if they really wanna have it.- Spoiler:
3 - Bandos page 1 - 190k - 316.7%
Getting even more comfortable with the pages. This is my final treasure trail flip for this week, and definitely my highest profit. Just to show how low people can sell items like this.- Spoiler:
The days review - I'd say a good finish to the week, my highest pure profit and my largest percent.
Starting Total Merchantable Bank:~1700M
Ending Total Merchantable Bank:
Weekly summary -
Date: Nov 20th
1 - Merciless Kiteshield - -99,666k - -36.9%
Let this be a warning to those who want to flip the newest gear. DO NOT attempt to flip them overnight on the day they come out. They are too unstable, and I was blinded by possible profit to realise that shields aren't as popular as they used to be.
- Spoiler:
2 - Seismic Singularity - -50,000k - -5.8%
Another lesson, the vorago cycle changes every week, sometimes for better sometimes for worse. Obviously this week was for wrose as I lost a good chunk of my cash pile. Even throughout the week the price of seismic singularity dropped around 200m. Even though many of us at smokin mils post nothing but profits we are still human and make mistakes.
- Spoiler:
3 - Merciless kiteshiled - 3,000k - 1.8%
So now it's time to make profit. Having just sold the shield where I lost 100m, I now had a good idea of the low price for the shield and I immediately put a buy offer in for a little bit above. It rather quickly bought but now that I'm awake and actively flipping I watched the prices and made some of my money back.
- Spoiler:
4 - Malevolent kiteshield - 10,000k - 7.4%
At this point the new armours are high risk, high reward. Now is the time for rewards. I stayed in the '90 gear pc' fc and kept watching for updates and jumped on an item that was recently dipped in price, or atleast more than usual. This one paid off rather quickly and quite well.
- Spoiler:
[img][/img]
5 - Malevolent helm - 1,600k - 3.2%
Now that I'm active I could check each and every update and sink my teeth into the items that made me lose a chunk of my bank. This item took a bit longer than the shields, I guess people were more interested in them, and while it was less profit than the shields I needed to burn off some time so my 4h limit would be reset and I had 6 ge slots to fill.
- Spoiler:
6 - Merciless Kiteshield - 1,000k - 0.5%
I had to sell this off early, I was about to go to bed and I did not want to hang on to this overnight again. The best way to learn is through mistakes, and that is one I'll never make again.
- Spoiler:
The days review - Well.... this is awkward, but I believe you guys can learn more from others' mistakes as well as your own.
Date:Nov 22nd
1 - Vengeful kiteshield - 1,156k - 1.8%
I started off the day by accidentally instantly buying this....great. However I stuck with it, knowing that these are volatile and unstable, I put the sell offer a little above the accident buy price and managed to sell it back rather quickly. I sacrificed more profit in order to get the comfort of getting that mistake out of my hands.
- Spoiler:
[img][/img]
2 - Malevolent kiteshield - 5,000k - 3.8%
Back to the cycle of shields, I kept flipping whenever my 1/4h limit reset and not going afk for too long while holding it. I was actually working on a lab report so I could stay by the laptop and keep an eye on things.
- Spoiler:
3 - Steadfast boots - 1,629k - 1.1%
going back to something I'm familiar with in order to make profit. These boots I know to be stable and fast so it's something I regularly go back to for comfort.
- Spoiler:
4 - Red h'ween mask - 3,200k - 0.8%
I was monitering Merchz live graphs because they also had updates for the 90 gear pc items and I noticed the rares were updated recently. This was the best time to invest since I had a very good idea of the prices. Usually rares give me some hassle but I guess the lvl 90 gear took that role.
- Spoiler:
5 - Adamant Bar - 3,887k - 8.8%
This week Billious' group had a f2p only merchanting competition (no rares) and I picked addy bars because they are high volume and usually they are stable but for a reason beyond my knowledge they went up, which is why I don't have a full limit.
- Spoiler:
6 - Malevolent cuirass - 3,110k - 2.4%
Having luck with the helm I tried the legs of the new armour. I was nervous at first because after I bought it the updates got lower for a few minutes, but it jumped back up (thank guthix)
- Spoiler:
The days review - Mixing up the items I'm making my money back, slowly but surely. I am getting more comfortable with these new items though.
Date:Nov 23rd
1 - Merciless kiteshield - 5,000k - 3.7%
Back to the main culprit for my vengeance, I got right back into flipping the shields once I got a start to my day. Keep watching for recent updates.
- Spoiler:
2 - Seismic singularity - 10,652k - 1.5%
I was nervous to try this item again, but it dipped so incredibly fast I could give it up. While this item was on its violent nose dive it did have periods where it rose again and thats something to keep in mind with crashing items, HIGH RISK HIGH REWARD.
- Spoiler:
3 - Ragefire boots - 4,420k - 5.1%
I pc'd this before I went to bed the night before and noticed its margin was below mid. 'Strange', I thought. So i put an offer in for 20 over night and let them sell in the afternoon (it rose above mid ). I was more comfortable to let this go overnight because these are more stable than the other items I have been flipping.
- Spoiler:
4 - Vengeful kiteshield - 1,500k - 2.5%
Getting back into the swing of things I put an offer in for the third shield, also the lowest since I wanted some variety. This one was being relatively stable so it was a good opportunity to flip it.
- Spoiler:
5 - Malevolent Kiteshield - 4,453k - 4.0%
This was an accidental instant buy, the prices hadn't been updated. I stuck with it and it paid off in the end but I was tense and nervous that I would lose out on some more money.
- Spoiler:
6 - Dragon Chainbody - 756k - 3.5%
Finishing off this week with a familiar item. It's good to have a core set of items that stay stable and can be quickly flipped for cash.
- Spoiler:
The days review - Finishing this week off strong. I did buy some singularities on their way down, hoping they go back up with the change in vorago cycle.

Re: Lil_me's Merchanting Diary
Looking forward to rating your diary this week (with Gummy and Billious of course) But just some input now that might help...
Real good start so far, but the educational value of it is in need of some improvements I reckon, explain why you did certain flips, what makes them good, some tips/suggestions that could help people flipping the same items, heck even include the FC you used or maybe what was going through your head. These things help those who are newer to merchanting and viewing your diary to improve, themselves
Great flips though !
